i gotta admit, that shot changed my fandom back to being positive about the knicks. being a former season ticket holder and lifetime knicks fan, something changed in me during the isaiah years. i felt the direction of the team under dolan and zeek was the antithesis of what NY basketball was historically about. thus, i found myself no longer caring about the team - i dropped my season tickets package and even started looking at other teams to replace the passion that i once had for the knicks. at that time, i said to myself, i couldnt realistically go back to routing for this team until all reminants of isaiah's bad decisions were gone.

over the past couple of weeks it's been happening slowly...prior to two weeks ago, i hadnt turned on the tv to watch a knicks game in 3 yrs. then i'm sitting on the couch one day channel surfing and i happen to catch a knicks game - wknd game against the clippers - and i gotta tell you that as im sitting there watching this game and a strange thing happened. unintentionally, i started routing for the team. i saw griffin dunking, then saw amare coming right back and flushing dunks on people's heads (wanna say he had like 39 or 40 points and double digit rebounds that game). the knicks rallied in the 4th to win the game. in the weeks that followed, i started following them on tv again, tuning in to catch part of the game, then tuning in to watch a whole quarter, then a hole game. before i knew it my fandom was back. fast forward to last night where the process came full circle....me, fish and marv are having dinner with our ladies last night, and i got the gamecast going on my phone the whole time (and at one point in the fourth when it was tight, screaming at my girl for turning the cablebox off at home b/c i cldnt slingbox the rest of the game on my phone at dinner)...

the motto of 'if you love something set it free and if it comes back to you then it was meant to be' certainly played out btwn me and the knicks the past 4 yrs and i'm finally glad 'it came back to me'.

to me, that final shot by felton last night symbolizes the complete makeover for the knicks. we used to be a team that got the wrong end of the stick EACH AND EVERY TIME during isaiah's tenure. we would NEVER win a close game like that (and some others over this stretch i.e.: minny game, etc) during the old regime. the breaks just went against us all the time.

it's nice to finally see the shoe on the other foot for a change. things are looking good for the knicks and i'm glad to be back and a part of it again.

its nice to care. I never stopped following the team but I did so with real apathy. Its impossible to love and care for something so dysfunctional and just ugly. What Isiah/Marbury did was literally poo on something we loved.

I know this team has limitations, needs some help upfront, isnt perfect. I know the coach has his shortcomings and the GM isnt perfect but he's damn good, and hes honest and likeable. This team is easy to root for and easy to like.

I'm yelling at the TV again. I cant wait for the next game. Im DVRing every game I cant watch live. I love our youth and hope we get a chance to see it grow

Ah, so you scream at your girl in front of your lady? See you know how to handle these situations. Must take notes.

dude, I feel that. I was at the bar by my lonesome last night to watch the game. The bartender is smoking (I love hitting on/getting rejected by bartenders), abandoned that conversation, and started a tab with the waitress working the area with the Knicks game--also ridiculously good looking, but the TV is in the back corner (because who the hell pays to watch the Knicks anymore). It is Wednesday night $3 drafts and there was a blond girl I knew from high school. Always wanted but I suppose my sauce was more mild than the bold stuff I bottle and distribute now. I just got back from Libya and have been leveraging that experience into getting my pecker touched, not last night. No, last night I pulled the chair up to the TV, dripped chili and nacho cheese all over my shirt, and am grabbing my hair in disgust and fist pumping on a per-possession basis. I looked like a raging lunatic. But **** it. My favorite team is good again and I feel privileged to be able to ride the wave before it even starts to crest.

Better days are upon us, gentlemen.

As for using Knicks tickets to get my pecker touched, the Denver/Miami seats are unfilled... but the Celtics seats have been claimed and that will seal the deal from last weekend's debaucheries
