Well, not so much.

That said, I'm not giving the Knicks a championship without further additions and upgrades. Nor am I dismissing the notion that the Nets may develop into a great team with their current core spearheading that development. Right now, however they are still in the basement (last in the East, third from last in the league) and the idea that people were stating them as being better than the Knicks even AFTER they got Amare was and remains quite amusing. If the NYC area is really Melo's preferred destination, it has to be clear to everyone right now where he'd end up if he goes to free agency. Any trade with NJ makes them worse in effort to improve with Melo. The Knicks coudl trade a few guys and still improve with Melo. Adding Melo to either team from the FA market, and it's clear right now the Knicks would give the better chance to win in the next couple of years.

or the fools like Barkley who said the Nets would be better than NY and would be the 8th seed.

And why does Lopez get a pass for HIS piss poor rebounding. They have a their very own Mebury point guard and a bunch of chuckers.

Jersey meet Karma, Karma meet Jersey

What they deserve for thinking they were hot shyt and their over the top arrogance.

I still love how folks were acting like NJ was as good a destination as Chicago regarding the potential to land LeBron and continuing to spin a team that only won 12 games last season into a playoff team simply with the addition of Favors, who's looking very green (and understandably so).

It happens...especially to me. I didn't expect much discussion and really no argument. This is a Knicks forum after all, so coming to Jersey's defense isn't really in anyone's interest.

Your titles are very long.

The Nets, they suck. They have bad leadership in Avery and King, they have a bum center in Lopez, he is a fool, and D. Harris is a bum, too. Favors sucks. It's a terrible franchise. And Newark is the worst city in the world. It's dirty, it's falling apart, the people suck.

The Nets, I don't know, Charles Barkley is back on the sauce I think because if he predicted the Nets for the playoffs, he had to be drunk. Wow.

WE AIN'T NOWHERE WITH THIS BUM CHOKER IN CARMELO. GIVE ME STARKS'S 2-21 ANY DAY OVER THIS LACKLUSTER CLUSTEREFF.

I have said so many times that Brook Lopez is overrated. He's good, and I would love to have him on the Knicks. He's a nice scorer (although his FG% looking more and more like they did in college) and he's so big and long. What he isnt is a guy who can anchor an offense (like Amare does) or a defense (like Hibbert is doing in Indy, or Bogut does in Milw).

Lopez is a young Ilgauskis, and there is NOTHING wrong with that, but BigZ is a nice rotation 2ndary player. He's not a build around player, and the Net's mistake and other's mistake is thinking Lopez is a guy you build around.

Hibbert, Howard, Nene, Duncan, Gasol (both), Horford, Bogut, OK4, Al Jefferson, Kaman, Knoa... I would say there are 12 guys starting at center better than Lopez right now. Maybe not *much* better but for one reason or another better, if only slightly.

He's 22 and can get better, but he's taken a BIG step back this year when everyone thought he would take a huge step forward and anchor a retooled Nets team. OOPS

Their draft picks have had little impact this year so far- much less than they probably expected, and I assume they feel that Outlaw, other than some 3's, has been a disappointment.

Can't figure out Lopez and the low number of rebounds he's been getting.I'm also surpised at what has happened with T. Williams, although some of you who follow the Nyets more than I do might have been following his decline.

I think Favors will come around and be a pretty good PF- the guy is just a bit raw at this point, as any 19 yr. old might be in the NBA. Don't know much about James, other than the fact that he is not a very good shooter, but is a good defender- they would have been better off taking Fields, it would seem.

The Nets have the worse record in the East yet they are just 2.5 games out of the playoffs.

Their schedule wasnt that easy either. Im not saying they are a playoff team but I see them better than some teams that are currently sitting ahead of them in the standings.

the FG% in college was a big concern, and it seems to be coming to light. 3 years late Im still happy we took Gallo over him

5 Rebounds a game from a true seven foot center with a near franchise tag w/Jersey is pathetic.

Being the huge D'Antoni proponent that I am, I can remember how so many people were saying that Avery was gonna have the Nets playing better than the Knicks and he was really the coach we should've gone after. Avery was supposed to be the vocal, in your face leader this team needed as opposed to the non confrontational, soft touch MDA.

I don't even think the Nets talent is bad! I think they've got some guys that should be able to play better BB than they have. It's a very young team, but they've got some talent. Eventually they'll get it together, but I just don't wanna hear how amazing Avery is and how he's such a better coach than Mike.

Some Uk'ers wanted Avery to replace MDA over the summer!

Guys, stop acting like homers and understand Knicks sucked until THEY proved otherwise. Who cares who said what.

Key to all of this is Who ever thought Felton could run the point on this system and his play the last 10 or so games.

Knicks sucked for years. Who cares what the nets are doing. They are just treading water in Jersey until they move.

They would be fools to bring in Melo and give up favors and picks.

I can't believe people are still looking at Chuck Barkley as a serious basketball analyst.
