That 3rd quarter stretch when our guys forced like 5 Minny turnovers in a row was the most exciting thing I've seen out of the Knicks all season. They just imposed their will on the game like good teams are supposed to do to lesser teams. All of us can remember that happening to the Knicks countless times over the last few years. They'd have a hot-shooting 1st half and get a nice lead against a better team, but then at some point the other team would wake up and shut us down cold.

Minny played a great game. About as well as they can play. Great to see it wasn't good enough. It's got to give tons of confidence to know we can turn it on like that. I mean, Minnesota could barely make a pass without a turnover. So aggressive on the D. Contesting every little thing they wanted to do. Awesome to see, especially since everyone who was on the floor was busting their asses.

The defensive adjustments we made in the half were great to see.

In the 1st, we had no help defense on Beasley. We didn't consider Love a 3-pt threat and constantly cheated off of him. We constantly gave up good position in the post to their bigs, allowing Darko or Love to get the ball 5-ft away from the basket.

All of that fixed in the second half and was exciting to see us forcing turnovers because of it.

defense is contagious as Clyde always says... once these guys realize how fun the game becomes when you're getting defensive stops & creating turnovers, they start to feed off of it & it pumps up everyone on the team to give more effort on D... they just need to turn this into their mindset going into games from the very beginning like the Celtics have been able to do, but it takes a while to form these habits... so far this season it's great to see guys like Amare, Turiaf & Felton leading the way w/their effort on defense & inspiring their teammates to do the same

Not only is it fun for them, its so much more fun to watch! What's better than watching the other team get the ball punched back in their face (or stolen) and then some one streaking down court to score on the other side?

Then you don't have to just score at a better percentage than the other team, you're actually preventing them from shooting in the first place.

exactly... an emphatic rejection by Amare on a guy at the rim gets the fans riled up just as much as an emphatic dunk in a guy's face on the other end... it's that whole "NOT IN MY HOUSE!" statement that it makes that gets guys pumped... that's why shotblocking is not an overrated aspect of the game... it does more than just alter a shot, it changes the way the game is played by the opposition & it inspires energy out of the crowd & in the players respectively.

Yeah that wa a shot of adrenaline. Turiaf's block was so awesome.

Shawne Williams has active hands too. He's got some pretty nice wingspan and I thought he was was quite disruptive.

That one sequence where we kept denying the ball from an inbound pass, getting like 2-3 deflections before finally they made a lazy pass which Felton snatched, made me love this team more than the Houston/Sprewell era (sans the '99 run).
