This guy has the vision & passing ability of a point guard. Not sure of his ball-handling though. Trade or sign a big that will help Turiaf's knees & Moz's inexperience. Eddie Curry is there but I find it hard to believe he'll play for the Knicks again. If Curry is not used in a trade for Carmelo then I see him being traded for TJ Ford (the experienced back-up people want).

Backup point guard. Kinda pissed that coach didn't give the kid any burn last night. Even had his dad in attnedance....there was a cushion, Mike, I'm liking you but that was a douche move
the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt

at the same time TD needs as many minutes as he can. And maybe Rautins not really ready.

MDA kept Williams under wraps until he reached a point where he believed he would not fail... he surprised everyone and started Fields, because he believed that Fields had proven himself... maybe Rautins has been slower to develop. He also started Mosguv, after he had seen some positive things during the pre-season.

I still believe that Rautins was MDA's pick, and I think he is going to bring him along slowly, and only play him serious minutes when he thinks that Rautins can succeed on the court.

It would have been nice to let him play in front of his dad, who announces for Toronto, though.

Makes sense. I really like how D'antoni is giving the rookies a chance this year. I can't remember the last coach willing to do it to this extent. I wonder if Fields would have had a fair shot with some former NY coaches.

Not a douche move. I don't want to go back to the Larry Brown days of starting somebody because they are from that town. I want Rautins to get some burn but MDA has shown significant progress with his madness. I would have to defer to anything he does right now.

At his rapid rate of development, Landry Fields will be the back up point guard before Andy Rautins

and I like Andy Rautins

rautins looked horribly overmatched in his limited playing time.

D'Antoni kept Williams under wraps until Walsh traveled with the team to evaluate the coaching staff and players. D'Antoni has definitely surprised me this year with his willingness to play the young guys but there was no reason for him to not give Hill and Douglas some regular minutes before the March road trip.

I think Mike will give Rautins a shot as some point this season. I hope he's ready to help or else I don't think he should play. Mike is rather reticent to put guys into the mix unless he's comfortable that they can get the job done. I think it's a good strategy.

If Rautins hasn't played yet when we're in dire need of a backup 1, then they're not sold on his ability to play point. He's a kid who, if he can develop point guard skills, has the other tools to be very valuable, but I never thought he had NBA PG skills coming out of 'Cuse. He played point forward a lot for them, but has never handled the ball well when pressed. He needs time to get that part of his game down and as a 2nd round pick, I think that's all that was expected of him.

For now, if we needed a 3 pointer to win it, you could have him out there along with Gallo, Williams, Felton, and Amare.

Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

Larry would start or give extended pt under such conditions. The difference here is we were in garbage time and giving him some pt at the end would not have effected the outcome
