At end of season, we could be looking at the following:

* 5th seed
* Amar'e MVP
* Felton most improved
* Chandler 6th-man
* Fields ROY

Any way we can make it a clean sweep and get someone for DPOY? Book it Dano!

The new new core: Randle, RJ, IQ. Maybe Mitch. Future pick. Future trade. Future FA.

I have higher expectations. Tell me the last time ab MVP was a 5th seed. My goal is to get the two pieces we need and challenge for the title this year. The ONLY reason we are not 16-5 is that we did not go to the 4-1 set early enough and force fed Timo--I mean we are 3-5 at home--we blew leads.

If you had the MVP the 6th man of the year the ROY of the year and most improved player--and you are happy with he 5th seed--youre out of your gord. The problem is people do not realize this team is better than the record. We DO lack two pieces and some consistency from Gallo especially--but I think we are the hardest team to match up with in the nBA.

Awright!!! Drinking the Kool-aid BABY!! 27 wins last year to the NBA finals and a set of rings. This May.

we dont have to accomplish this all in year one. There is something to be said for process and patience. Its WORTH forcefeeding Timo, its worth staying pat w/ Gallo and Chandler. Shawne Williams is 24, highly athletic, 7'3 wingspan and can play 3-4 positions. Fields is rookie of the month and the leading rebounder for ALL NBA guards. As bad as Mos looks he IS getting better. Little things will start clicking. Mike Breen couldnt shut up about how hard he works and how much his teammates like him.

Its going to take 80 games and a round (hopefully more) of playoffs to really see what we have. You start tinkering now and you risk selling low.

We have some nice ingredients. Let the pot simmer and enjoy the process

I don't see any reason the Knicks can't finish 4th in the East this year.
Miami will get their **** together, and Boston and Orlando are the real deal. We'll need some more beef up front to contend with them.
But damn, a 4th place finish, and a solid shot at getting out of the first round is more than I could have asked for before the season started.
God bless Donnie Walsh.

Sadly 4th seed is all but impossible.

Mainly because even if we get a better record than Chicago or Indiana, they lock up the 4th seed for being division leaders. Not that it would matter since if we have the better record, we'd get home-field advantage against them, even if we're 5th seed.

I'm actually going to be ecstatic if we get the 5/6 seed. That would be an amazing accomplishment and the pressure would be there to make the Knicks keep up their intensity. They wouldn't be looked at as a just "happy to be here" team. 7/8 is the just happy to be here spot.

I believe in this team and I think they're better than the record suggests. The early problems could almost be expected with the newness of the roster and the System. We have so many young players that we rely on. So now it looks like the guys that are playing actually "get it" and that's a good thing. Felton n Amar'e carry the main load and like I said before we have some high quality role players surrounding them.

We haven't even maxed out on the full potential of ths team. With so many young guys that are in the infant stages of their careers, we have a ton of upside. People bash Timo, but really if this kid does get it this season, he'll be a huge asset. I mean think about it. He's 7-1 with a nice stroke and good athletic ability. Getting his head right would be a huge boost. What about AR? This kid is gonna get another chance this year and if he's indeed learning it could be another big boost.

The only issue is backup PG. Other than that I feel good about the roster. I felt we could get to 5/6 seed from the start and now I think it's really up to the players to push and fight when the schedule gets tougher. They have to avoid panic and stick with the game plan. Spacing, pace, ball movement and player movement is key. Play even harder on D and we'll be in there.

Suprised Bulls as problematic but its only 1/4 they way thru the season.

This season has been a pleasent suprise so far.

Donnie has a nice lead for exec of the year but Riles looms.

What have we learned?

Patience for team to come together, not everything is as it appears (blastin gon our draft over the summer!) and MDA is a good coach.

Starphuchs are not the only thing that works. AMare was the real deal but Felton (non starphuch) is enhanced by MDA ball and makes others around him better. Chandler is improved and enhanced. Gallo is a better all around player and Rookie Fields was allowed to shine.

We are .500 team and 5th or 6th seed is doable.

That is much better than many predicted.

Fishmike is right, look for incremental improvement and enjoy it.

Also don't forget setbacks. They will happen. Some fans will call for MDA head and demand trades or lament on Walsh not executing trades that they are certain were ours for rejecting.
