Last time this happened in sports was the Montreal Expos, who are today the Washington Nationals - so this may be a prelude to the return of the Seattle SuperSonics? Maybe?

Like I've said before, they never should have moved to New Orleans in the first place.

As a Seahawk and Mariner fan, I know first hand that SEattle has dealt with a lot of misery and they still keep goign to the games. They deserve an NBA franchise

I remember when the Jazz left New Orleans for Utah. Took some time to get used to the new name. I'd like for Seattle to get another shot. I get the feeling that they would do a better job of filling seats this time, even in this economy.

They had one of the worst attendance figures in the league, which is why I hope they can do better this time, so they can keep the
franchise in Seattle. I understand that greed was the driving factor for the move. Filling seats will make it harder for the next owner to try it.

Attendance was low, but the fans aren't the problem. The problem was prolongued mediocrity. Outside of NY, when your team doesn't win for long periods of time fans stop going. Seattle fans have been plagued over and over again with bad management decisions with all their sports teams. Attendance for all of those teams(even the "12th man" Seahawks suffer) goes down. But show those fans hope(whcih Durant would have) and people will go. It's not like NJ or Miami where winning doesn't matter

Sonics owner moved the team because the city and taxpayers didn't want to pay for a new arena right?

I feel bad for Seattle and I miss seeing the Sonics in the hunt. Hope they can work things out.

The Hawks and Mariners got those two beautiful stadiums and Sonic ownership wanted a shiny new toy as well. Seattle taxpayers/state legislature were sick of paying for stadiums and voted against it. If the team was winning they probably would have gotten it. But the team had a history of mediocrity and was one of the few teams that operated at a loss

Plus the owner was from Oklahoma
