John Starks would be proud

The most encouraging individual move in the Raptor's game was the Mozgov dunk... and while the Landry Field's continued impersonation of John Havlicek makes Knicks fans smile like proud parents... the most shocking development is the smooth and consistent range of employee number 3.

Shawne Williams' (hopeful) continued productivity means that:

- The Mayor becomes less reliant on his three point shot and continues to model his game after Captain A.

- Gallo has help.

- Toney Douglas becomes more of a playmaker and less a three point shooter.

- If he sees any light, Anthony Randolph can focus on rebounding and hitting the offensive glass.

- Kelenna Azubuike can take his time returning from injury.

- Ronny Turiaf should not set foot on the court until he is back to 100 per cent health. Anytime after New Years Day is cool.

- Bill Walker must work extra hard for minutes

- Roger who?

Starks would indeed be proud, as long as you don't mention game 7 of the 94 Finals.

Williams so far 11-15 FGs includes 7-8 3 pointers. We know that will drop of but what a good start.

EArl, good analysis of the ripple effect caused by his production. I agree with all of it and allow me to add one more. If he can continue to give us this production off the bench it allows us to keep Chandler in the starting line-up and not have our bench production suffer when we start to play some of the leauge's better teams

Will be interesting to see how Williams adjusts once teams put him on their scouting report and they force him to put the ball on the floor. either way it gives amare/ray a great kick out option or it makes things easier on them if williams' defender has to stay at home on him.
Let's try to elevate the level of discourse in this byeetch. Please

"Shawne can play from the 1-thru-4 positions ... Extremely long with a 7-3 wingspan ... Advanced offensive game, really understands how to play ... Great one on one skills offensively ... Great vision, passing skills ... Good ball handler, almost second nature ... Can create for himself or others off the dribble drive "

- Aran Smith, NBADraft.net

The best line is, "Good ball handler, almost second nature"

In 51 minutes Shawne Williams has a grand total of 3 turnovers. One was a baby step on the out of bounds line.

GodSave - if other teams "force" Shawne to put the ball on the floor, watch him work. For those among us who consider three point shooting fools gold consider this... the best feature of Shawne Williams early minutes in a Knicks uniform is NOT his shooting. It is that fact Shawne Williams thinks ahead and knows what do do with the ball. He never holds it and stands. Similar to Landry Fields, there is movement and maturity to Williams game.

Notice how his head is always up and how his eyes survey the court when he receives the ball.

While we were dazed and amazed by Wiliams raining one clutch three after another, we failed to mention the Knicks basketball IQ just got bumped up a notch

S Williams is looking to improve his 3pt shooting accuracy tonight as the Knicks take on the Timberwolves. Currently siting @ 88% Shawne feels get can get to the mid 90's and keep it there with a minor adjustment

Along with Landry Fields, Shawne Williams is trade bait.

I cannot wait for him to shoot 2-18 and 0-11 from three point range.

Oh the pain.

Seriously...I love Starks but when I hear his name all I think of is "ill-advised shot".

The new new core: Randle, RJ, IQ. Maybe Mitch. Future pick. Future trade. Future FA.

I would love to see that as a starting lineup just to see the looks on the other sideline. perhaps April 1st if we have a game?

Woah, why is Landry Fields trade bait?

Landry Fields is someone I want on the Knicks for the next 10 years. This guy is a baller. I would rather keep Landry than get Melo in a trade.

WE AIN'T NOWHERE WITH THIS BUM CHOKER IN CARMELO. GIVE ME STARKS'S 2-21 ANY DAY OVER THIS LACKLUSTER CLUSTEREFF.

What I have heard and read from media sources is that Denver would insist he was included in any Melo trade and that Denver is more open to trading with NY because the Knicks could include Fields.

If You Ever See The Answer Man Using Trade Checker, Slap Him, Hard

Q. orangeblobman - Woah, why is Landry Fields trade bait?

A. Because The the New York Post said so. "Still, without NBA experience, it's stunning that he looks more polished than Danilo Gallinari. In fact, Fields, the 39th pick in the draft, is playing so well he may play himself to Denver in a potential Carmelo Anthony deal." - Marc Berman

No worries blob, Landry Fields is playing his way into the hearts of Knicks fans. To break that fresh bond and trade him would be criminal.

Not A Mirage

Another solid game for Shawne Williams 5-9 (3-4 from three, well below his average), alert ball movement, clutch points, a beautiful drive from half court, 13 points, and only one turnover in 25 minutes (the most minutes of any Knicks player off the bench by the way)

"Yo, Shawne Williams is good. Extra E continued to pop in the corner with aplomb (3-4 from downtown), and also played some splendid help defense around the basket (2 blocks). One thing I like about the corner-popping is that Williams has surprisingly discerning shot selection, almost to a fault. The 3-4 stat is a testament to Shawne's tendency to pull only when he's sure he can make the shot. That's an excellent quality. Had he pulled when I was confident he'd make the shot, it would have been more like 4-45."
