Two amazing finds that become fixtures on a playoff contender. I know its early but I think Fields is already there. If Williams matures and is able to fulfill his potential the Knicks have two steals that could help the franchise for a long time.

Fields is having a pretty good impact, but he's not on that Starks level yet. Obviously Williams isn't anything yet except intriguing. Starks and Mason had a huge impact which I doubt these kids will match. They don't have to for us to be successful.

I agree. But I think these guys might turn out to be really special finds. A team in the Knicks situation needs to hit some home runs to get over the top. These guys both might be that.

This thread is very disrespectful to us old school fans. Starks was my favorite player. Mason was somebody I saw on Jamaica Ave on a regular basis.

These guys aren't close to Fields and Williams. They (Starks and Mason) are really in a category of it's own.

This Knick team is very different from any Knick team I can remember, which believe it or now, is more pleasing on the eyes. The Old School JVG knicks were very boring to watch. Low scoring defensive games. Winning ugly basketball games....

Really now...why jump the gun like this? Especially with Williams...this is his first good game for us.

Not meant to disrespect. I have every game from the Riley era on tape. I grew up as more of a Yanks, Giants fan but once Ew was drafted I fell in love with the Knicks. Just hoping things are changing.

My guess is that most loyal Knick fans are old school. You have to have a lot of passion to go through the Layden and Isiah years and still be a fan.

I think Williams can really amount to a lot on offense. Remember, he is a high talent guy that had outside the game problems. Him as a find can be like Starks, but it's going to take the rest of the year to find out (and a nice dunk over Kobe, Lebron or the like )

Fields is an all around very good player. But, I think we are seeing he is limited from 3. Outside of that I am curious to see how Fields offense develops as he was a good scorer in college.

I do got a really good feeling that Williams is going to be seeing more minutes and a regular spot in the rotation. With Amare in the middle, he is going to get more open looks.
