Can you remember a player in sports who will be more vilified than Lebron will be tonight?

Piece Of Cake

In 1910, exactly a century ago, black heavyweight boxing champion Jack Johnson defeated "Great White Hope" Jim Jeffries in Reno, Nevada. It was the "Fight of the Century." It captivated the nation and the world. Jack Johnson was his own man and defied social convention of the era by dating and marrying white women, wearing fur coats and driving fancy cars. He married three times, all to white women.

Tonight, an entire city vents its frustration towards the unforgivable Lebron James.

"What should he do?"

Bron should watch clips of Jack Johnson this afternoon.

earl... not bad but a different era. That was fueled by racism. Im looking for something thats more sports than other factors. I know Kermit Washington's career was ruined and the hate he got (deserved) after punching Rudy was pretty bad.

Clemens to the Yanks? Not even close...

Kermit wasn't a bad guy. He just saw a guy running at him during a fight and reacted. As for the Jack Johnson stuff, i'm amazed at what that guy was able to get away with. Tho he did pay dearly for it but still that too some MASSIVE cajones. In fact i'd put him at the top of the list for the most ballsy man in history for doing what he did. A minority going up against an entire social order.

Kermit Washington is the best player in American University basketball history. Yes, the same American University islesfan and myself attended. Oooooohhh, that explains a lot!

an easy comparison is barry bonds. who got booed in every stadium when everyone thought it was only barry and a few who were juicing. lol. to barry's credit he endured the booes and didnt get all jose canseco with a book.

everyone was all for a congressional investigation when they thought barry would finally get his. then when congress showed that damn near everyone's favorite mlb player was juicing, fans wanted the hearings to stop lol.

Rick Mahorn? Bill Laimbeer?

Spree trying to feed his kids?

Marbles and his Magic truck?

AI and "practice"?

Everything else seems to pale in comparison to the hate LeKing is going to experience tonight. What's the over/under on how many times play gets halted due to things being thrown on the court?

Imagine a Cleveland win.

Exactly. I don't remember any Raps fans burning his jersey.

Clemens?

Boggs and Damon might have a high level of hate in Boston too but I think Clemens takes the cake.

I think it's going to be so good I'm recording this in the DVR.. Do you think he sheds a tear? Lebron gets boo'd in places he wasn't even thinking of playing this year, so I can't imagine the level of boos.. I don't think there's anything that it will be comparable to

I dont' remember any Raps fans. I talk to people in Toronto everyday. Half of them don't even know they have a basketball franchise.

No one else had "The Decision"....
No one else will be hated as much as LeBron will tonight.

I'm rooting for the home team!

Well, Toronto's a hockey town first, and a baseball town second.

The guy holding the bottom sign looks like he could be Donnie's nephew.
