Hollinger has us as the 18th best team in the league. One thing worth noting is that the average winning % of our opponents for the season is .394. The Raptors are only 2 games behind us and their opponents' average winning % is 101 points higher.

Baby steps my man. We're just building confidence for the time of the year when the games have meaning.

Hollinger could rank us #1, he's still an idiot and his #s add nothing to the discussion of the sport.

Eat is crap but west is not much better. We have yet to play the better teams.

There sure seem to be UK folk getting uppity and wanting moves to put ud deeper on contention.

Time will tell. nailed thinks we are a .500 team who beats who suppose to beat and will struggler against the elite. Injuries will happen. We'll beat some good teams and blow others. Look at Milwaukee. They tore us up, then the pacers and then fell back again.

We are a wok in progress and playing interesting ball.

Good post. You definitely have to hope that those close games we had against Boston/Portland etc would be wins if we played them right now.

Friday night against the Hornets will be a good indicator. Without West they aren't a huge step up in competition, but it would be a sign that we're... gasp... better than average if we can beat them.

Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

This is true, but maybe those teams are only .394, due to the stress of us beating them. Ohhh.

No, I agree with Marv. We should be 13-6 right now, based on the schedule, but look, I'm not going to over analyze that. The fact of the matter is that we normally don't beat the teams we're supposed to beat. Even getting to that point is significant progress.

Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

A team that was a 29 game winner doesn't have the right to believe that they're gonna beat anybody. In case you weren't watching last year, wegot our butts kicked on many a night, by teams we should have beat. It's so foolish to say where a team should be. That's why they play the games.

Knicks are playing good ball right, hard to call them a good team. I *think* they are but 10-9 after like 10 losing seasons isnt anything to write home about.

The talent has certainly been upgraded. Anyone who had doubts about Amare being a star now realizes he clearly is and we seem to be getting better as a team.

NBA is a looooooong season and cream always rises to the top. There are still a lot of things that concern me about this team including our coaching and style of play, but considering how its essentially a brand new team just thrown together with like 4 guys back from last year I'm quite happy with where we are.

I said 45 wins and I'm sticking to that. I could see us win 50, I could see us win fewer, but we are definatly a +500 team and a playoff team.

My focus right now would be getting Chandler/Fields/Gallo/Douglas group to continue to improve while getting AR/Mosgov into the mix everynight. We need those bigs

IMO the only reason we got beat is that 1. we missed Turiaf 2. this team is and was still trying to get it together. Teams had their chance to jump on us when we lost our way for a little bit but I think this team is starting to come together and it won't matter who the opponent is, cuz I actually think there's a great level of parity in the league outside of the elite teams in the top 8-10. After that all the teams are fairly close. On any given night you can lose to any of the teams in this league if you're not on your game.

SO to me it's not about the winning % of the teams we played. This league is kind of top heavy with a few powerhouse teams out West and a couple of top teams in the East right now. Our Wins are valid and this is gonna be a good team. The 6 game losing streak kind of skews the record but we can make up for it with some clutch wins here and there.

You beat the team that are in front of you on the schedule. The Knicks have faced the worst opponents and they are taking advantage of it which is what they are suppose to do. Slow start but finishing with a 7-2 record not bad. The schedule gets much worse in December lets see how they do.

One thing that has been impressive is that this team has played a lot of games in a short period of time. All the games and back to backs can take a toll on a team, but we've been very competitive save for a game or two. That won't be the case in December. The opponents will be tougher, but the number of games will be fewer and that could help us to be more prepared and rested. We should be able to get healthy with more days off.

ah, but watching the games this year suggests a different story to me. many a game we defeated ourselves. against teams that we clearly put more talent out on the floor than we managed to disregard our offensive schemes and instead threw up successions of quick 3's, reverted to iso's, didn’t call time outs when they were called for, didn’t run any plays following critical time outs etc., etc.

13-6 would have meant just splitting those 6 games we went 0-6 on.

Some of those teams had better records than us when we played them. .500 is .500

last year we were the team bringing down other teams SOS. We were the team that other teams said didnt count when they beat us. At the end of the year a win will be a win, and while were getting them im not complaining
