Not for nothing, but if STAT keeps beasting like this, and the Knicks keep winning, Stat's gonna be in some MVP conversations...

Check out compared to the "other" best big man in the East:

Amar'e Stoudemire Dwight Howard
PPG 23.4 22.6
RPG 8.6 11.9
APG 2.5 1.3
SPG 0.8 1.1
BPG 2.1 2.4
FG% 0.507 0.598
FT% 0.762 0.538
MPG 36.2 34.4

He's definitely stacking up.

I think he'll be one of the top guys in the all star votings overall. And top East PF by far. Playing in NY should have its advantages

I know he's not getting mvp, but he has to be a top ten candidate so far this season. The knicks just need to be a few games over .500.

There was a lot of chatter about STAT being a consolation signing for the Knicks, but of the vaunted free agent class of 2010, has anyone played better than him so far?

I don't know if he'll win MVP bu he HAS GOT TO start at PF on the Eastern All Star Team, right? Felton should make the team too. Both assume they continue playing like this

Dude that game against Charlotte last week with the 6 blocks? Most of them key at the end of the close game?
I haven't been jumping out of my seat so many times watching a Knick game like that in ten years.

I was in a pub, pretty much the only person watching the game, and I think everyone thought I was crazy.

STATVP STATVP STATVP STATVP STATVP STATVP STATVP

funny most (me included) wanted lebron cause we viewed him as kobe level, he aint. kobe like stat, are legit franchise players who lead their team to wins, on the court, in the locker room, in practice. a franchise player who when he says something in the press, the players respond positively, cause he earned their respect.

2 MVP arguments.

1. Does the player have the numbers?
2. What happens when you take that player away from their team? Do they falter?

Amare definately answers both questions emphatically. STAT for MVP. Spread the word!!

A 3rd argument is if the team wins... and the Knicks still have to prove that over the course of a full season.

no suprise... he might have been the best player in the NBA in the 2nd half of the year. Everyone thought the Suns would fade but Amare carried them to the best 2nd half record in the league. He was an absolute monster.

This is why depth is so important over a 2 or 3 deep roster + a bunch of scrubs.

With Amare/Felton/Chandler/Gallo you have 4 guys who can give you 25-30 points on any given night.
