Yea- I'd kinda maybe like to see AR get some more of Timo's minutes. I like Timo- surprised he started, not surprised he is back on the bench.
I know AR has looked lost, been hurt, but Timo has gotten a chance to play and develop, while AR has not.
I suspect D'Antoni's problem isn't with good vs. bad player,s but athletes vs. cerebral players, also known as BB IQ.
That might be one explaination why Fields & Mosgov are getting minutes, when AR can't crack the rotation.
here's my take: Moz is active defensively and gives all out effort all the time, same with Fields. Not so with AR.
Wow really? Comparing Mozgov & Fields is so apples & oranges to me it's not even funny. They don't belong in the same sentence..One's a rookie that plays ball like a 5-year veteran and the other rookie plays like he needs time in the developmental league..I'm with Izybx 1000% with this all the way..The man is not helping us at all -- might block a shot here or there but overall he just doesn't have the skills to play in this league yet on both ends. I would give AR a chance with those mins -- he should've been getting those Mozgov mins right from the get-go. What's done is done now -- Mozgov had his chance and he hasn't performed. Try something different now dammit! Today against Detroit, Mike actually went to AR in the first half for a stretch and he looked serviceable. He was runnng the floor, picking up his man on defense and moving the ball on offense..Then he took an open elbow jumper and missed long and Mike got up off the bench and got pissed...He yanked him shortly after and then he never got back in the game...i mean was he that bad Mike?? Come on bro..See that can't happen..Nothing wrong with that shot too btw -- yeah it wasn't the best shot in the world granted (it came on a break with no rebounder underneath and no other teammates around from what I remember--he prob. should've waited for his teammates to come up the floor or taken it right to the goal) but was definitely not the type of shot I would've gotten all bent outta shape over..I mean you gotta be kidding me -- Gallo's shot selection is extremely questionable at times, so is Fields' decision-making and I love Fields (how 'bout that behind the back pass to Amar'e in the paint that went out of bounds today
), so is Amar'e's, Felton's, TD's, you name it...Mozgov in particular--I just can't watch him anymore. He's so lost he wouldn't even be able to find the Garden if you dropped him off at the c/o 32nd & 7th...Yet Mike has no problems with any of these guys. I think AR is talented and he can help us yet he's getting the shaft & he's treated completely different than any other player. Why the F is that??? I mean it's worse than how Don Nelson handled him..Rediculous. It's a shame and I think it's on Mike totally for not getting the best out of him.
You all wanna say Mike knows best, he sees AR is practice everyday and we don't and he hasn't stood out the few times he actually has gotten a look--I buy that but only up to a point...You can't then tell me Timmy Mozgov has played like he deserves those minutes. Sorry, can't have it both ways guys..Moz is a mess..To me between AR & Mozgov (having seen Moz for a little bit now at the pro level), Randolph has the better potential for impact. It's not even close. He should be allowed to work through his problems and work off the rust just like every other young player.
I'll make it more clear: I wasn't comparing Fields and Moz in any way, I was describing their effort on the court and making note how they both give lots of it compared to AR.
Moz is not clicking offensively, but at the same time 90% of the passes that come his way are crap and end up as TO's. But he does cover a lot of ground defensively and is active. Still making silly fouls.
The Knicks need bigs. And wins. Pretty sure MDA is in the position that he would sell his soul for wins and also pretty sure if he thought AR was ready and could contribute he would play more.
