I didn't see the game but Moscov had a good stat line. How did he play today?

He played like a rookie. He is overzealous on defense.

The play where he tries to pressure Josh Smith the full length of the court and picks up a foolish foul comes to mind.

OK -- about the same as he's been playing..Had one nice block that I could remember but a lot of the same rookie mistakes..He even managed to hit on one contested layup attempt that was so awkward I couldn't believe he made it -- he went from 7'1" to like 6' on the play but still managed to convert somehow..Beyond ugly though...He's just not ready for basketball at the NBA level. To be fair there's been a ton of times he's been open so far this year where we could've got him the ball but he needs the D-league in the worst way. We need an upgrade there pronto (1st big off the bench), esp with Turiaf hurting & probably out now indefinitely with the knee...I think sink or swin, Randolph deserves those mins over Mozgov unless they can come up with something that makes more sense. I honestly think Mike's blind if he doesn't see it that way---he's just spiting this kid Randolph now if that's the case..I get the feeling that D'Antoni might be more concerned about his own job security over a little experimentation to see if a guy like Randolph can be a solution. I mean it's not like Mozgov is ripping it up or anything, he's not..Make the move!

I actually thought he did well (though I missed the first quarter). In a short spell he had a good block, an interception (which almost led to a fast break bucket for him, except the refs for some reason allowed a Hawk to pull him back twice) and at least one basket.

The refs call him on the most ridiculous ticky tack **** though. It's really infuriating to watch them call that stuff on him, and then watch bigger name players get away with exactly the same or worse.

They make the same call on bigs around the league. Mozgov needs to understand what is and what is not allowed.

I think Mozgov was decent. He played hard, but made some rookie mistakes. The potential is definitely there, but he needs more experience under his belt.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

Mosgov would benefit from a stint in the D league.

I like that Moz is getting time against the NBA level players. He's really a lot closer than it looks. If we had a Steve Nash or some other good passer, we'd have a completely different view of the kid, cuz he'd be getting a lot more easy buckets in rhythm. He's really open a LOT and missed way too much. Like any player, they need to get into a good flow and when you get some easy buckets it helps to get your timing and everything. He's still good and bad on D. He has to learn, but he does the job inside more often that not. His jumpers look good and with more attempts I think he'd have a good avg. With his size and athletic ability, he's should be getting to the line more. Imagine what a CP3, Deron etc. would do with this kid? For the most part he's in there with TD lately and Felton isn't that much better at hitting the bigman rolling to the basket.

I thought Moz played really well. He was very active. He drew fouls a few times and they didnt give him the calls. He also had some silly fouls himself but he's a rookie and he's getting fouls because he is playing hard.

Mozgov gives the effort at least and is getting better. He had some good plays and some that reminded me of AR then Randolph comes in and finds a way to get him the ball

I have never seen a Dleague game. I do't know if he benefits from it.

He had a great steal, and was fouled which was never called. Instead they call him for stepping out of bounds.

The kid has some great intangables.

wilson won't pass the ball to him.

I've only seen 2 games this year because most are not televised where I live but I'll comment on what I've seen. The guy looks awkward and unathletic. He's huge and he has long arms but he does NOT look polished like I'd expect someone in his seventh season of professional basketball to be. I don't mind him being a 12th man but I'm not expecting much.

We're not winning a championship this year, so keep Mozgov in the lineup and let him develop.

This kid is not polished at the NBA level but highly athletic. I have abbot 12 games and one in person. I get what Walsh and the coaches see in this kid.

Considering that they don't really run any plays for him, I thought Moz did well.

I saw the game and he played pretty damn good for a rookie. He made rookie mistakes but at least they were on the aggressive side and not passive. He is really a force around the basket. He blocks shots so easily. Really, we have not had someone who can block shots like him since Ewing.

He makes stupid mistakes but is a rook. Look at some centers picked in the lottery over the last few years, he might be doing better than most. Who was the number 2 pick last year again?

As other posters have said, he needs to get the ball when open. And I don't even mean on jumpshots, he was open underneath quite often. Even if he misses the shot there is a chance he will get fouled and beyond that him scoring the occasional inside basket makes the other team have to cover him better, which opens things up for others. That is the thing, if he gets open and is not given the ball then teams will continue to sag off him. Mike needs to run some plays for him.

Speaking of Mike, the thing I really dislike about him is how he doesn't make creative adjustments that often. For example when Jamal was lighting it up, wouldn't Randolph have been good to put on him, much like Jeffries was?

He's an NBA rookie but he's in his seventh pro season. It's a bit misleading to just call his mistake rookie mistakes.

Well hopefully they're right. I don't have a problem with him being on the team. We didn't give up anything other than money to get him.

Bonn1997 - gimme a break, Mozgov is 24 years old. How many 17 year old NBA pros have there been in the history of the United States?

None.
