Briggs, you gotto stop this trade Randolph for role players stuff. Terrence might end up being a good player but so could Randolph. He's just developing in practice as the D'Antoni's say. How about lets see how he turns out by the time he gets released from his cage. Not trade him just b/c he's so young and in the doghouse for a certain amount of time. Lets post with our thinking caps on!

I'd do it. Murphy is no risk high reward. I don't know what to think about Williams but Randolph isn't playing until a new coach is in place.

Does Murphy even play? Idk they value Williams fairly high. AR's stock is pretty low right now and besides cap space nobody wants the curry drama.

Williams is out of favor with Johnson right now I believe. I watch them a lot and he has been called the key to their season by their announcers on more than one occasion. I think Murphy has a foot injury but Humphries is playing out fantastic so I think they would move him to take a shot on Randolph. They don't have Thorn anymore but I think Billy King and Thorn have a very similar approach. He might see the value in taking a chance on a talent like Randolph.

Im only interested in if I get back a 6-11 skilled big who can play 4-5 proven and is NOT injured. If Troy is healthy--there is some money savings for them + they get a swap in (prospects) I think that would be 700k + AR. Williams would do well here right away and of course Murphy if healthy give s us that third guy and he expires as well. I'm not saying it has to be this trade--but this is the model Im looking for. If we traded Curry for Murphy--we still have large ending contract. At this point I have Jerome Jordan developing in Europe then roster spots for Curry Randolph and rautins that Im not getting didley out of--I think Williams could be a guy who we could use say a Walker goes down or into a slump. But Im not getting enough out of Mosgov and Im think with two bigs and we haev seen what happens when he went down. Im not playing for next year anymore--cant believe in anyway that the Knicks would be as well--we cant have all of these guys who cant contribute to what we are doing with such a thin frontcourt.

Im not willing to sit on assets that can be moved for players who can help us win now after 10 years. Im not patient anymore--this is not rebuilding anymore and that has to be the focus win now.

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- The New Jersey Nets have assigned Terrence Williams to their NBA Development League affiliate in Springfield, Mass.

Williams

General Manager Billy King announced the move on Friday, saying the second-year guard will benefit from playing for the Springfield Armor while he is on the team's inactive list.

The Nets put Williams on the inactive list Tuesday for "repeatedly violating team policy." The team's sixth man missed Tuesday's home game against Atlanta and Wednesday's game in Boston. King said he discussed the move with coach Avery Johnson.

"I feel the best course of action for Terrence and the team at this time is for him to play in the D-League," King said. "He is currently on the inactive list and this move will allow him to play until he is once again placed on the active list. There is no timetable on his return to the active list, and Terrence's future status will be addressed at the appropriate time."

Williams was selected 11th overall by New Jersey in the first round of the 2009 draft. The Louisville product has appeared in 86 career games, averaging 8.3 points, 4.4 rebounds and 2.9 assists. He was averaging 6.8 points, 3.8 rebounds and 3.0 assists this season.

When Williams was suspended earlier this week, Johnson declined to offer more details, but said the situation had been brewing for a while.

"It's something we've dealt with for the past two or three weeks. I don't know if he clearly understands what we're trying to do," Johnson said at the time.
