He's a big, defensive minded center who will run the floor, rebound, and block shots. He is a little clueless on offense and makes stupid mistakes we know, but he can knock down the midrange shot, run the floor, and finish well. Also, where he helps us as a rebounder and defensive presence overrides his mistakes. He fits this system well and between him and Turiaf we are set at center as Mozgov still needs more time to develop.

We badly need a rebounder as Turiaf and Mozgov may be the worst rebounding center combo in the league. In the 35 combined minutes they will play, they might grab 5 or 6 total rebounds at best. Dalembert has one of the best rebounding rates in the league. He is also very durable. He should be available at a reasonable cost this summer and could be had if we still have capspace after Melo or have the mid level to use because we get Melo this season. Sac has Cousins so they won't look to retain him for much. Thoughts?

I rather re-sign Ronny Turiaf.

Why not just have both? Neither should play more than 26 minutes per game.

Nah...Timofey Mozgov should be able to spot Ronny Turiaf for those 20 minutes much better next season.

He definitely should be considered. I think the expectations for him in Philly were too much. You know what you are getting now. I would like to see Turiaf back as well. His leadership qualities and on court play have been fantastic so far. The Knicks really struggled when he was out.

No on Dalembert. I want to cultivate our homegrown talent, Timofey Mozgov, and have Ronnie and Timo be our 2 headed Center monster. I think Timo is a much better talent right now than Sam.

The upside, especially on the offensive end is definitely there, but once again we can't get 5 or 6 rebounds combined from our center position. If one of them was a good rebounder that's fine, but neither are.

Dalembert is a foul machine, not very bright and is poison in the locker room. No thanks.

That is also what I have heard. Very selfish and would ruin the team chemistry right now.

Ok, so no Dalembert. But we will still need to address the rebounding thing if we ever want to become a contending team. Who do you suggest as a better option?

I think he's a good fit. Dont know about his personality problems, but I always thought he could be a very nice piece. He's one of the best help defenders and shot blockers around. I like Turiaf and plan on keeping him. He's got a $4mm team option, so keeping him next year is an easy call IMO.

Dalembert turns 30 next year. His age isnt a big concern for what he brings. Turiaf is hurt ALOT. I bet he plays 55-60 games this year. Mosgov has nice upside but he might be a couple years away.

Not sure if Dalembert is the best guy but I like the thinking. Go for size, defense, rebounding. Playmakers would be my other target.

We need to target players like:
Brandon Bass
Reggie Evans
Josh Powell
Glen Davis
Taj Gibson
Anderson Varejao
Leon Powe

Excellent Rebounders with Excellent hands... not very expensive.... I'm not sure any of them pass like Turiaf but many of them have better offensive games.

Dalembert is a weak side shot blocker, he's not the type of post player we need.

Rose is not the answer.

Sorry but those aren't particularly good options. There aren't many good rebounders on that list and most of them aren't good in the open floor. Maybe the only one of those who is a better option than Dalembert is Varejao and he is the least available.

On paper Dalembert seems like he'd be a good fit- a good defender, rebounder, shotblocker etc BUT in reality, Sixers fans absolutely hated him after he signed that big contract- they were desperate to get rid of him for years, the consensus seemes to be that he absolutely sucks in a way that doesn't show up on the boxscore. I haven't really watched him play much, but I'd be very wary of getting him from what I've heard

Mozgov can be just as good, if not better, than Turiaf if he is developed.
