Claiming he previously didn't know enough about him, Wilkens now is ready to elevate Frank Williams to backup point guard over Moochie Norris after watching yesterday's practice. - From the NY Post

Good news. Very good news.

I was just about to post that. Here's the link:

It's about time. I was beginning to think Wilkens was as myopic as Chaney.

LOL I was about to post it too...

It says alot about Frank, and I am gonna be checking for him in this ATL game. Now's the time for Frank to really step up.

It was in the NY Daily News too- Frank Isola's column:

FRANK RANKS WITH LENNY: Frank Williams could become Marbury's new backup tonight against the Hawks. Wilkens said he is considering moving Williams ahead of Moochie Norris on the depth chart. Williams, who was a starter for three games before suffering a groin injury, has played 10 minutes since Wilkens took over and has recorded two DNP's.

"Because I didn't know him," Wilkens said. "But when you see someone in a practice situation and they accept the challenge and they go after people. ... I'm going to try and use him. I like what I saw."

Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

Wait Lenny, you didn't get info from Herb and Malone ? Oh boy we are gonna see what playa has been saying all along Frank helps this team flow. Frank must be on the court with or without marbury as SG or PG

hey, what's up playa. haven't heard from you since you got vanished. oh yea, frank does help the knicks flow, he might just be a better "fit" at point guard than marbury. he "knows" how to run this particualr team as he has been demonstrating all through out the season. some people just don't know that much about basketball, they think if marbury is more talented, he is a better fit for this team than frank. until isiah gets some athletic players around marbury, like the marions and the amares, he will be less effective with this team than frank throughout the season. if you don't know that, then maybe you have just started watching basketball.
FRANK WILLIAMS should be an allstar. The BEST knick this season!

Hell yeah. This is great news. Too bad it took him so long to figure it out. FW needs to get a lot more minutes. When he plays the offense as fluid as it can get. Hopefully Wilkens doesn't play him at the 2, because he's a 1 and needs to be kept that way.

According to http://www.82games.com/0304NYK.HTM FW still holds the highest +/- on the team. Quite a feat. He has not been treated well at all by the Knicks, but hopefully now he can really prove himself.

HAHAHAHA!! Whats up playa is right. What is even more funny is how almost everyone wanted Frank Williams to start when Layden/Chaney ruled and he never got a chance. As soon as Zeke comes in he forces Chaney to start Frank and we win 4 games. Before that playa never even mentioned Frank Williams being that good.

It was getting really annoying. It is much more fun to actually discuss the knicks and argue H2O and KVH being good or bad. Arguing for the sake of arguing and just saying I was right you were wrong was just a waste of time. I applaud the mod's for killing this before it got even bigger.

Stephon Marbury is better than Fwill. He will get almost all the minutes in almost all the games. Is there any chance of Wilkens playing Fwill and Stephon in a backcourt often? I haven't been up on the Knicks lately but I heard we are definately getting a low post threat before Feb 19th.

Can you guys imagine a Stephon, H2O backcourt where H2O shoots lights out and then goes to the bench for Fwill who drives and kicks out to stephon who again drives and kicks out to someone or passes the ball to our Low post threat who just powers into the paint and goes up hard! We will seriously be unstoppable.

The only way I want a FW/SM backcourt is if FW plays the point. Williams is a good scorer, but is not good enough a scorer to be played at the SG spot. Marbury on the other hand, is a great scorer who can play the 2 to give Houston some rest.

Of course, under no circumstances do I want to see Moochie in any clothes, other than warmups. Moochie is no Howard Eisley, but he is still quite bad.

The fact that FW is now in the rotation just goes to show how much we are in a transition still. Like I said when Lenny was hired, lets wait 10 games and see what happens before jumping to conclusions. The rotation will probably change several time before the all star break, and a trade will probably take place too. So for now we just have to beat all the bad teams we are fortuante enough to be playing in order to stay in that 8th spot or right around witht the Sixers. After the all star break the team should be fully in the mode it will be in for the rest of the season. Bring on the Hawks, hopefully we come out hungry after the embarassin loss to the Rockets and blow them out by like 30+ lol.
A glimmer of hope maybe?!?

Playa is now gogetit ! I had a few post that got cancelled of the Houston massacre pt 2. I expect the knicks to beat Miami and if we don't you better start with the coaching rotations. Othella is a sometime player and he is no Amare , and penny is no Marion. We are gonna live and die with the new poster boy for the knicks...Alan Houston move over steph is the "poster child" and can sell more tickets than you.

Mooch makes big money, and lets face it, you want production from that. That is why Eisley got playing time. ITs the MONEY.

Now if Frank can only post up shaq!

Is this the same frank whom hid his broken wrist in the draft, denied it, then broke it in summer league and basically missed last season?

Shaq SAID: Oh #30 Williams just got lucky against the Lakers . He bust Kobe BRYANT FOR 18 PTS and made a few Lakers look silly trying to deal with his herky jerkey moves. LOVED IT!

I agree, Frank should get some minutes at SG and move Steph to SG and rest H20 or even play H20 at the 3.

You're not going to get production from Norris. He makes significantly less money than Eisley or Spoon, and if necessary, he can be bought out more cheaply.
