Winning as the result of honest hard work being done by organization is the most consistent and sure thing in Sports and anywhere.
Cutting corners and marketing empty promises is sure thing for losing.
Some people rip the shot term profits but the organization, business, Country are loosing big time at the end.

I can't see them keeping up this kind of pace (60+ wins). Essentially, they are pretty much the same team as they have been the past few years, and none of their key players has gotten any younger.

I will root for this team, and I think it would be great if they were to make another run and reach the finals, or even win it all, but I just feel they will come down to earth at some point.

They are the same team, but people have been sleeping on Parker since he was hurt. People are not calling him a top 10 PG which is crazy, he is the main reason that team is so good right now.

Parker has returned to form.

And Gregg Popovich spent the summer working with Richard Jefferson one on one to rebuild his confidence and his jumper and it's paid off in a big way. 16ppg for RJ on 46% from 3pt.

Exactly. That more than makes up for Duncan's #s decreasing.

I didn't know Pop worked with Jeff. Thats awesome. Jefferson had a very good career until last year so it makes sense that he would bounce back.

that is why i respect pop so much as a coach.

San Antonio seems to be just a really well run organization. Having Duncan def. helps. Let's see how quickly they rebuild when their Big Three retire. Funny how all this talk of a big three starter with the Celts when Tony/Manu/Duncan have more rings right?

From the Bill Simmons chat yesterday:

"When TP-Longoria went down, I pulled the numbers on first post-divorce filing games for as many NBA players as I could find. Wade, Shaq and most anyone who plays the 2-5 are abysmal. Point guards, on the other hand, are dominant. Nash: 21pts, 13 dimes, 0 TOs. Kidd: 10pts 14 assists 8 boards. Parker: 24 pts, 10 dimes and a remarkable (for him) 2-2 from beyond the arc. What does this say about the PG position? Is the sweet serenity of massaging a well-oiled offensive machine a different feeling altogether for the just-separated working male than the harsh reminder of failure to deliver at home when you're playing a position that demands delivering buckets?"

Pop is a great coach - the best or one of the best in the league.

Wolves are beating the Spurs right now. Darko is having a great run of late. He is at 16, 8 with 3 blocks in the third quarter. Wolves may not hold on but this is impressive for them.

It says correlation does not equal causation and three is a really small sample size.

Wolves up by 5 with just under 2 minutes left. Love has 30 and 19, Darko 20, 8 and 5 blocks.

Spurs just tied it up after their rookie point was fouled from the arc.

AND they're going to Overtime.

Bonner just hit a 3 with 45 seconds to go in OT to give the Spurs their first lead in the game.

http://offthedribble.blogs.nytimes.com/2010/11/25/keeping-score-spurs-recipe-for-success/?ref=sports

Good blog entry on NYT's site on spurs recipe for success.

Who will our Duncan, Manu, Parker be?

I was hoping Amare, Gallo, Randolph would be it but up to this point Randolph and even Gallo couldn't hold any of those three's jockstraps.

I do like that we're getting good role players late in the draft (Fields) and finding foreign talent a bit better than in the past (the Moz, Gallo) .
