Barnagni Calderon and Weems

for AR Mosgov Douglas Curry and Azubike #1 picks in 2014 and 2016

That would put us at

C-Barnanagi
F-Stoudemire
F Gallo
G Fields
G Felton
C Turriaf
F Chandler
G Weems
PG Calderon

That gives us our skill 7 foot C who will blend in nice with Amare and Gallo
and upgrade the bench

I don't think we can trade Mosgov till Dec 23 or some date near there.

Even with his mistakes, you can see the guy makes a difference on defense when out there (minus the Griffin dunk!). We need to give him time.

Why Bargs? Gallo seems to be a better player and do more.

I say a big NO to your proposal. Sit back and relax for a while. It takes teams time to gel when they have new players. Not to compare us to Miami, but with all their talent, look...

With Bargnani as your center, you will never win a championship or get past the 2nd round even. The dude sucks.
Rose is not the answer.

I rather groom Timofey at center than Bargnani. But in general, all these euro players, responsible for guarding the paint, is a disaster waiting to happen.

I wonder if we could steal Chris Kaman from the Clippers..That team's off to a horrible start at 1-13 & going nowhere this season, Kaman's out with the sprained ankle and he wasn't playing great before he got hurt..When right this dude's still a good aggressive C in this league (an all-star last year in fact) that's tough as nails, can rebound, block a shot or two and wouldn't need the ball every trip down on offense to be effective (although when he does get it he can score---this is a very skilled offensive player). I think Kaman would be the perfect dirty-work guy next to Amar'e..How 'bout Curry, Mozgov, Rautins and the 2014 #1 for Kaman & Rasual Butler?? The Clippers get younger/cost-effective replacements with nice potential for Kaman/Butler, the 2014 1st-round pick and they'd save $12.2M next year with Kaman..We'd have to forget all about Melo as a FA with this move (even a trade for the guy would be hard w/o Curry's salary) but we'd be adding an all-star level center & a good shooter off the bench (I'd just waive Mason with this move) all while not crippling the cap long-term (Butler's off the books at the end of the year & Kaman comes off after next season). We keep AR too (although if it took AR to get this done I'd still have to consider it)..I don't know -- make any sense? Worth a shot???

Kaman would be great. I still like the idea of getting Jason Thompson. I also think the Knicks should explore Kris Humphries or Troy Murphy from the Nets. Favors looks like he is going to be their long term 4 so one or both of these guys might be available.

Well Thompson might be the cheapest smartest buy but I think Bargs is the real deal obviously. I guess my overwhelming thought here is for the right players--I will give up assets and free agency. I think this is a very good team missing in two areas---another skilled big who we can count on to score and an upgrade from both the wing and PG positions off the bench. We dont need free agency if we get the right fits for the team now.

I agree that we could use another reliable big man. Although Bargnani's a nice young player with considerable talent he might be a little too perimeter-oriented for my taste for this team (and we all know that's part of the problem here at times). Add to that Toronto's gonna want a king's ransom for this dude plus he just re-did his deal not too long ago and that contract isn't favorable at all -- meaning if we got him we'd be stuck with that team for the forseeable future (would an Amar'e/Bargs/Gallo/Felton core be enough to ever win it all?)..Not to mention the fact that you were willing to take on J. Calderon, another unfavorable contract (just looking back the Raptors didn't do a damn thing with a Bargs/Bosh/Calderon core)..Thompson and Kaman are two much more affordable options as far as what it would take to probably get them and the cap hit we would have to absorb -- each only has this year and next left on their deals -- if it didn't work out with either guy, we could then regain cap flexibility to retool while Amar'e was still more or less at the top of his game..Just narrowing it down to those two then, I like Kaman better personally..Thompson's a nice young player with some upside that's getting the shaft out in Sac a little bit but to me, Kaman's the better player between the two. There's a reason Kaman got the contract he got--unlike a lot of players in this league that score a big lucrative deal, Chris Kaman actually earned his..Jason Thompson will probably never see that type of money..Plus between the two, Kaman's more of a legit center to slide in next to Amar'e..Thompson would be nice though -- we get Thompson, we might still have enough cap flexibility to do something big this off-season..Adding Kaman would all but eliminate that possibility. Tough call..

no idea if they are better 1-on-1, but there are guys I would want on a team built for playoffs before Barg, especially for their D:

Howard, Noah, Bogut, PGasol, Kendrick Perkins, Nene, Duncan (and maybe Lopez).

MDA would gizz all over the court if he had Bargs at C... but TOR will never make this trade.

Duncan is not a C...... Neither really is Gasol
I would take Bargs over Nene for sure

Just saying Bargs aint on bottom of list of centers

He aint the best but with his shot he would be nice on our team!

Perkins is not a type i think

As far as fit Bargs is not that bad!

I question a couple of those but nevertheless we would be getting a 25 year old skill C who i think can get his rebounds up to the 7-8 level and fit in very well here. Calderon just started off in a slump and Sonny Weems is one of the most under rated athletic wings off the radar in the nBA right now. His efficiency level is in the top tier in the nBA.

Calderon is not the answer here ...... Unless TD is traded they both chuck too much!!

No sorry Bargs is not terrible in anyway and i think he would thrive here. That would make us 7-0 6-10 and 6-10 skilled all the way through the front line. I think calderon is a better back up than Douglas and Weems is just under the radar but is one of the most efficient wing players in the NBA.
To get you must give

I agree Bargs is not Terrible...... Here he would spread floor with Gallo and we would be very hard
to guard.......

He passes very well so easy buckets for Amare
