pick to Sac and Thompson to NY type deal?

Thompson no longer fits there--but I know hes good. Randolph is simply out here--I think hes just not a fit and I think Indiana had interest for a restricted #1. Its a case of players not fitting and not playing well becasue of that fit--and a change of scenery is in everyone best interests.

JT is weak on the boards. Just about all he can do is score around the basket which we don't really need unless Amar'e goes down.

AR has a role on this team. He just needs to play.

JT avg nearly a double double 50% with a block last year. If we add JT our 3 bigs =Amare Turriaf and JT with Mosgov for depth.

this is so f'n funny. briggs you’ve been a madman for 2+ years about getting ar here. the guy can f'n play. he didn’t go 16 and 11 for a whole month of his rookie year and then “forget" how to play. you, who always stresses dominating one's current level of play as a major indicator of their ability, saw him rack up43 points in an initial summer league game. seriously man, you went f'n nuts on the guy for 2 years and now want to banish him after a handful of games? that's f'd up. seriously.

i'd rather send mda on his way than ar. the kid's coming back from an injured year, is probably getting next to no constructive coaching from mda and hasn’t recovered his mojo yet. this is a fly around the rim camby/rodman type of athlete who’s already shown his game can translate to the nba. he's in a funky state at the moment.

chill.

i think what he meant to suggest was that AR can still be a top 5 player in the NBA in Sactown... just not in NY.

Zach has too many open warrants in IN. Wouldn't work contractually.

Marv--sometimes you thrive in one place and falter at another. What we have right now is a terrible situation--we took a high caliber asset and devalued it--I don't know about you--But I want to win now--there is no tomorrow(Apollo Creed Rocky 3) I like what NO has done with West and Ok4 and I think we can be *formidable* with Thompson Stoudenmire starting and Turriaf off the bench. Mosgov can be a 4th wheel when we need a 7-1 guy--foul trouble injury etc.. actually 5 games in the d league wouldnt hurt. Sac started 2 PF's and a C---there is NO room for Thompson--its a toxic situation--very similar to the same toxic situation we have now with AR. Its impossible to win 50 game snow I believe but if we keep the 3's to 15 and add a Thompson we are players come the playoffs. One piece in the frontline and were players.

We do best when we have Turiaf on the floor... We could use another 'enforcer' type forward. Thompson to me is a weakside help defender/shot blocker. He doesn't have the body/girth to be a good man on man low post defender.

Guys I like for this team are players like Reggie Evans, Luis Scola (for his rebounding), Griffin, Noah, those 'types' of players. Beefy bodies who can man on man defend and grab the tough rebound.

AR is actually more like that than Jason Thompson I feel. We should keep AR and try to build up his confidence and give him some solid playing time once we get to .500.

Rose is not the answer.

C-Thompson 6-10 250
PF Amare 6-10 245
SF Gallo 6-10 230
G Fields 6-7 210
G Felton 6-1 200
C-Turriaf 6-10 250
F Chandler 6-8 225
G Douglas 6-1 190

Im telling you--with Gallo coming on--if we could get Thompson--limit our 3 pt shooting to 15-18 good one's--were going to be a player and haev a chance to beat anyone--especially is azu comes back at 90%.

I think AR is a better player than he's shown so far. But there's one thing that has me greatly concerned and that is his injury history. Regarding Thompson, I have no evidence for this, but somehow I get the impression that there's more to his drop in minutes than his not fitting there.

keep dreaming...the knicks don't use d-league and i don't expect them to anytime soon.

how many teams really use it as a place to develop their players?

i actually don't know, but seems like not most.

it's not a real minor league, because you don't have that kind of control, since teams are shared.

practicing with the team is clearly seen as better than using an associated d-league team.

Forum Po Po and #33 for a reason...

I dont think we have the pieces to win now, or those pieces are not ready per say. I also think we have some good pieces that really dont fit with this coach. This should be a defense first team that pushes the ball off turnovers. We could (maybe are) lead the league in steals and blocks. This is a super athletic team with a lot of size and length. We should be attacking the basket all the time, and focusing on defensive pressure and creating turnovers.

I got sidetracked...

I'm holding AR now. Thompson is OK, but nothing amazing. I dont care if AR is the 9th or 10th guy all year. His time will come.

But if Gallo has two bad games in a row you'll be wanting to trade him for Hassan Whiteside next! (sorry just couldn't resist)
