Gallo has been asked to go to the basket for years now and really hasn't done it to the degree that most would like. Lately tho he's been getting to the line more frequently. Avg'ing more than 9 FTA's a game the last 5. Danilo went 16 of 17 last night. This is how this kid can help push us up the playoff ladder. If he can consistently play more and more aggressively.
It's hard to say if he's finally getting it, but the trend is promising.

He's actually gone to the line 52 times in the last 5 games. That's over 10 a game and over 6 attempts per game for the year. The basketball world is screaming to him that "we can't guard you when you diversify". His drives will actually open up his jumper as guys will stop playing him as tightly as they have in the past. If this clicks in his head he will begin to take practice jumpshots and his percentage will go up. If he develops a pull up midrange jumper he will be impossible to guard. Lot of ifs. If this doesn't click he will continue to have nights of sitting on the perimeter and "being all about team". All-stars always have THIS MOMENT at some point in their careers and their confidence goes through the roof. Let's hope this is that moment for Gallo.

They always say that the difference between an all-star NBa player and a d-leaguer is confidence.

He is finally getting it......

He is finally getting the rock!..... He can't draw fouls w/o the ball.

Gallo last year was second on team in drawn fouls.... And even b4 yesterday he was a close
second to Amare......

Yesterday he the chance to do things and he did what he does!

When he got hot yesterday he hit four straight buckets and 10 straight FT's with no
misses and had no turnovers all game.....

Give him the ball and then we can start judging Gallo

KNICKS on the way UP!!!

We should all pretend that game yesterday didnt happen. That is the WORSE basketball I have seen played this seen. Kings shouldnt have even been allowed to hang around.

As for Gallo he beasted against matador defenders. We play Golden State on Friday. Let's see if he beast against the Wright's.

Isn't taht the point? If you notice when Nixluva wrote "Gallo finally getting it?" he put a question mark at the end for a reason. We have seen this guy penetrate and be a terror for five straight games. It's nice to watch, but of course he has to do it for a sustained period of time before we can conclude that he "gets it".

Yes, the Kings were pathetic. But it was a terrific chance for Gallo to start taking the next step. I still believe in this kid, and think he has the potential to exceed all of our expectations. Even though he looks really sloppy in his handle, even though he doesn't usually finish at the rim, he still gets the foul and makes defenders wince at their inability to stop him. Then his shooting confidence goes up and he starts nailing "less contested" three's.

Gallo is doing what he has to do to make himself untouchable as a trade asset. Last night was great, but I want to see this sort of play from him on a more regular basis. And I am pretty sure we will.

Thank you Bip. I just hope like everyone that the lightbulb clicks on in his head and that he's doing this consciously and not by accident. This guy has so much potential and I think the solution to reaching it is simple. Be AGGRESSIVE! That's really it. When he gets the ball he shouldn't give it up unless there's a pass that leads to a score that presents itself. He's a primary scorer for this team and needs to think like one.

Another thing I wanted to point out is that despite all the people saying he's slow and all that, he's smart and he's not quick, but he's fast. Once he gets running he's much faster than people think. Just watch how he gets out on the break and how hard he's running. He can't jump like J. Smith, but he can draw fouls. I'd like to see him finish a bit more after drawing contact, but that should eventually come.

Yes if your the first option u will no doubt.....

But Gallo really has been 4th or 5th option so far...

I grew up in Bensonhurst and always got my shots regardless as well ..... First game on Tillary
Street i had one shot attempt ( A brick)......

My point is your team has to recognize u as the second best or best player on the team in order
for it to be a consistent thing.

Bosh is a good example in Miami

This is a myth. Anytime Gallo has been aggressive he has gotten his shots. Those nights he doesn't get his shots it's because he is standing on the perimeter not making himself available. When he's agressive the team gets him the ball. NObody is freezing him out. With Gallo you can actually tell how many shots he's going to get taht night by looking at his body language in the first quarter.

I dont know what happened to Gallo but the bottom line is he is back to where he was end of last year--he is avg over 20 points his last 4 and as long as he plays smart hard basketball--- he could put up 20-24 every night

This team is NOT a bad team. Its been poorly coached.

Gallo is due to blow up real soon, if it hasn't already happened.

He's going to the line alot and his shooting from the floor is down to a level that i don't think he can even sustain. 32% from 3 and 36% overall. If those come back to his career averages and with his new found ability to get to the line, then he is going to easily average 18 a game if not more. Watching the games he is missing wide open 15 footers a ton, sometimes settling but it's those shots that he should hit with regularity. Now if he could do more on the boards then he'd be our Dirk :).

How so? What proof do you have that Mike is the reason for this teams players taking bad shots, not being able to make even the simplest BB play like PnR, missing wide open jumpers and FT's? Yeah that's the coach telling them to do all those dumb things.
