Not glad that he's hurt, but glad to know the reason his play has been way off is because he's battling a back injury. His early play was a big part of the good start and his poor play a big part of the losing streak. We are not a very good team right now and need all the ponies playing at a high level

He looked good last night, looked to be moving well w/o any pain. If he has to sit then I guess we'll see Rautins backing up Felton. That may not be a terrible thing..I think Rautins can help esp if D'Antoni insists on staying the course with the 3-ball as a major weapon in our attack. Plus Rautins showed that he actually can distribute the ball a little too.

I don't get D'Antoni playing Douglas hurt while he wasn't producing when he just could have given Rautin some of those shots?

Yeah that is kind of a head-scratcher...Maybe TD didn't reveal the injury until just recent. But if MDA knew about it a couple of games ago, he should've sat Douglas..Why push the young man threw a back injury, however mild?? Makes no sense. Not when you have Andy Rautins around for depth..If TD's hurt give Rautins a shot at backing up Ray for a stretch. I have no problem with that. Lets see what he's got. I would've went a different direction at 38 in the draft and I know a lot of others would've also but whatever, Rautins is a Knick now & to be fair he's far from terrible. He can play. I think he could help us -- that jumpshot of his is definitely NBA-caliber. Rautins & Gallo are probably the two best outside shooters on the roster.

Is Rautins ready to play at this level. I have seen very very little of him. I do want to see more though, hopefully he IS ready.

Its pretty obvious that he doesn't know how to manage injuries. He had Gallo out there with his wrist and we all knew that there was something up with Douglas. Would it have hurt to give him a couple of days off as well as Gallo. Sometime you just have to play through injuries and to Gallo and Douglas's credit they did even though they look bad out there.

Rautins has looked horrible running the point in limited minutes

they are nagging injuries. I understand letting guys try to play through them. Fine line between that and benching guys. To be fair wasnt Gallo doing a lot of sitting early on when he was struggling?

There is a difference between being out there and resting. When your out there there is a good chance to re-aggravate the injury.

Does anybody know (or care) what MDA's playing history was with injuries in Italia? Was he expected to play through nagging injuries, and is that why he seems to be running people who are hurt, because it's a s-ck it up and perform mentality that probably is the norm in Europe?

That's a back injury. TD has a lotta heart but I dunno about playing through one of those.

Don't think d'A has any faith in Rautins handles yet. From what I've seen he is not ready to face any real pressure while bringing the ball up. He has the vision and can knock down a shot though. Seems like he could have let Mason run point for some short stints and let Rautins play the 2.
