I couldn't see a thread on this, and normally I wouldn't read anything by Isola, but:

But Harrington also suggested the organization may have created tension in the locker room in its attempts to market Gallinari as a star. Harrington revealed that there was some resentment in the locker room toward Gallinari, whom some players felt is a favorite of D'Antoni. Harrington added that Gallinari's team-first mentality made him a respected player among the veterans.

"He's definitely getting a fair opportunity to be what they want him to be," Harrington said. "Hopefully he'll accomplish that. I'm a big fan of Gallo. I was a guy that got guys off him in the locker room. Everybody felt that way. It was tough on him. He wasn't asking (to be treated like a star), they gave it to them. To his credit he never got a big head about it. I always pulled for him. I hope he does become what they want him to become."

Well, it confirms what we all saw and suspected- players were freezing him out of the offense. It's absolutely pathetic to read- I hope none of the players we have left over from last year were amongst the people crying about Gallo getting more attention than them. So who does everyone think was complaining about him?

I'll guess, Nate, David Lee (he refused to pass to Gallo and they never seemed to acknowledge each other), Duhon. Hmm.. you know I think I've already forgotten about who was on our roster last year. Anyone else?

Ha- you know I honestly had forgotten that Hughes ever existed. I think you're right about him, but maybe not about Al- I think he just didn't like to pass to anyone, so it wasn't personal with Gallo.

Also I get the impression that Gallo and Chandler don't get on- they never seem to acknowledge each other, and I can never think of any interaction between them on the court- it's like they play for two different teams.

Gallinari was unpopular, not for anything he did, but because people felt that management gave him to much credit. Sounds like a bunch of six year olds.
I just hope that people will like me

I wonder if that 6 year old movement was lead by Nate.

He did freeze out Gallo quite a bit.

By this logic, Marbury, Nate, Hughes and JHill must have been MAD popular.

Our team of bloated vets where not condusive to developing youth. Imagine if they started Landry in that mess last year?

Hughes would have pooped in his shoes!

Chandler and Eddy are the only 2 "vets" left from last years' team. Then Toney Douglas (rookie) and Bill Walker who came in at the trade deadline. The present team is pretty well devoid of any player from the Isiah years. Ah!

Gallinari frozen out? What the hell games were you guys watching last year!?!?

At one point he was averaging almost 7 three-pointers taken per game! He averaged 11.5 shots per game. Almost all of those shots were from long range! That means someone had to give him the ball. He barely got the ball and created any shots for himself.

He was being featured as much clearly better players in Wilson Chandler and Al Harrington, who would occasionally do something besides stand around the 3 point line waiting for the ball to be handed to them.

oohah

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

Good for Al. I liked him when he was here. He looked like he really wanted to be a Knick. Dudu, Special Nate, JJSkinny, Hughes can all rot in hell. If it comes out that TD has been infected then he needs to be sent away. Everybody saw how the team last year basically freezed out Gallo. I hate them fookers.

Seriously? You have to be kidding me if you think they did not freeze out Gallo last year. Dudu and Special Nate were culprits. DLee actually passed to him.

Would it be fair to say that Gallo is freezing out the Knicks with his cold shooting.

Happens to everybody. Gallo seems to be a very smart player. The last 2 or 3 games he has been attacking the rim and I believe is averaging 7-9 FT attempts a game. Right now his cold shooting has a lot to do with his hurt wrist. Jesus Shuttleworth was in a shooting slump also last year for quite awhile. Everybody goes through it.

yes Seriously. Nate Robinson was injured for half of November, benched for December, and traded soon after that. So please tell me how he was freezing Gallinari out.

And Dudu freezing Gallinari out? I don't even know where to start with that. Dudu did not freeze anyone out. He got time because he did exactly what he was told to do even though he was terrible.

if a guy averages 11.5 shots per game simply camping out at the 3 point line all game, there is no way he is being frozen out. If anything, he is being given more shot opportunies than he earned with his play on the court while other guys have to earn their shots cutting and rebounding.

Then I must be watching a different set of games my friend. What I saw last year was just childish in Dudu's part.

^^ Forget Dudu. 11.5 shots per game standing 25 feet from the basket. How can that be defined as being frozen out?

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!
