I've been saying that all along. He's good but he doesn't fit our team as a starting big man. We need a low post player in the starting lineup. We have plenty of jump shooters in there.

No one ever argued that KT was a starter caliber PF in the NBA. He actually can be very good as a starter if he was playing next to a Center with post moves but since Centers are impossible to find KT might go. I like KT cause he has never been lazy on defense and does anything you ask him to do but sacrifices have to be made.

And like someone said, "Never be sad for a millionaire"

The package to get our low-post player is prolly KVH & KT. Come on, Isiah! Get Sheed in here!

this is whats killing us. I like KT but we can't get away with both he and KVH at those spots and deke at center, we need some athleticism there. KT IMO will always be a great player off the bench, we now have the talent in the backcourt but we need to upgrad the front line, period, we let maurice Taylor go off on us last night and that is unacceptable for a team wanting to be a playoff contender...

hardcore: I know rasheed is really good and all that but seriously, 'be careful what you wish for.' You know his history man dont be upset if the trade doesn't happen. It's all for the best.
(I mean everything, not just the rasheed trade. everything that happens generally turns out to happen for the best.)

IMO The Sheed trade will be for the best. The very same thing you say about Sheed now, was said about Spree in '98 before we traded for him. That "chance" was worth it, and this one can be, too.

Sometimes all a player needs is a change of scenery to get their spirits up.

i seriously dont think you guys realize the talent in rasheed wallace. He has a tremendous inside post prescense that he hasnt been using much until late this year. He has mixed his game with 3pt shooting for the past 2 seasons howeever, he once again is demanding the ball where we need it most, in the paint with his back to the basket. I wont say his defense is great however, he should average over a steal and over a block each game. I mean, if we were able to get to rasheed, what would the cost be? the worst case scenerio would be salary cap relief... and maybe by then we will lost KVH or KT and we can either complain about how we missed them like we always do or we can move on and see what we can do with that "athleticism" we are trying to obtain...

You can't get both, we were either gonna get a superstar at pg or superstar 4. Not both.

RonRon, you need to copy that post in the "Portland trade" thread. It answers a question regarding Sheed that someone asked, in a nutshell.

Rasheed is a SOLID PF. probably one of the top if not THE top PF in the East if we got him... Coupled with our Ace jumpshooter in Houston and our Excellent PG in Marbury... we would be in great shape for a nice playoff run. then.. all we would need is someone to fill the 5. I for one.. would not onject to getting Camby back for the exception... I love his high flying dunks.. granted he has been injured alot in his career.. but have any of you seen him since he left.. The man is JACKED!

PG - Marbury
SG - Houston
SF - Van Horn or Penny
PF - Rasheed
C - Camby
....
If nothing else... it would be a really fun team to watch and root for.

Jermaine O'Neal will be a Knick if Thomas is still our GM when his contract expires...

i feel ya man. i think that is the exact thing that isiah is working on, like he has been saying, "we want to get more athletic and up-tempo style". he feels that the knicks have a long way to go to get to where they want to be, he's really trying to do his best in trying to make the knicks the best. i must give him credit for that.
btw, the trading deadline is february 19, so any move that will happen will be in that period. hopefully isiah pulls of something that will make the knicks an even better team.
