Ok, maybe Knights too close to Knicks, but so is "Knets".

Anybody guess if Nets will change the Kname? Lots of Russians in BK, they can be the Nyets!

Just the apparel sales will pay for the team. Brooklyn is cool again!

Marbury, if he stayed would have been playing in Brooklyn. Wow!

Still gotta be 3 years away from an arena. You guys will have a Knice crib when its done. Maybe I move back one day! (currently in North Carolina)

I think they should be the Brooklyn Dodgers.

Spike gonna have a time with that won.

Dolan is going to fight this move.

Do they stay lame in Meadowlands, or can they go out the the Island and play till the new arena is built?

I was a big Net fan growing up. Went to a lot of games when they won 2 tittles and the Docter ruled. Knicks in 73', Knets in 74', and 76'!
I was 12yrs old and thought NY basketball would rule forever!

But the ABA was not the NBA, and DR. J did not play in the NBA, so his greatness was not yet legit. When they moved to NJ, it hurt, but we had the Knicks. I never went to Knet Game in NJ.

Knets cross the river, back to my home land, I am happy it could happen! If basketball reigns in NYC, the epicenter is of that is Brooklyn. Ratner is a genious! THis is a brilliant marketing move.

With a legit arena, whats Knext? Arena Football? Could Islanders move? or at least use the availablity as a bargaining chip? Monster trucks in Brooklyn? Rodeo? LOL Concerts! That arena will be busy!

Good luck Brooklyn.

Personally I dont care where they move, or what they change their name to. I will always think of them as the New Jersey Nets and second class citizens to the real NEW YORK KNICKS. Marbury won't care if a team is in Brooklyn - the Knicks are New Yorks team. Always have been and always will be.

LOL! Isn't that exactly what I proposed?! Think about the chesspiece of the knight. The horse's head. It could make an awesome logo.

Anyway, I'd love to have a team within walking distance of my house! Sure, they'd be like the New York Clippers, but if Brooklyn has a sports team again, just change the name and sign me up!

Dont forget Richard 'I think I have basketball skills' Jefferson! Although I have to say I would rather have the Nets in brooklyn than in Jersey. Atleast there will be some Die Hard fans. None of this, "I know Jersey drafted Jason Kidd crap"!

The Knets have been squatting in Jersey for many years.

The Nets won two tittles in the ABA and were very cool. Before cable days. Never won over the city, they were in the 'burbs.

In 3 years the team will not be as it is today.

Don't Kidd yourselves, That will be a first class arena, not that piece of crap out in jersey. This will be a NY team, not a Jersey team. And if the team wins, it will roll over the Knicks in popularity. Dolan needs to not Star Phuching his team, in three years when Knets move over the team will be older, and much different. Even Sheed would be getting used up!

If Jersey blows it up, sucks it in for a few years and rebuilds for new arena, it could make a difference.

And Kittles will be gone.

The Knicks will have to earn their keep, and perhaps thats not such a bad thing for Dolan to realize.

Yeah,

I recall your post of the Chess piece!, I see it black, white and silver in color. Just my Visual in the head.

The Nets should change name and depart from its history. It was very sad when they sold Dr. J to Philly. Even in Jersey he would have been a bigger star playing int he area.

Brooklyn from a marketing standpoint represents a city within the city. A large neighborhood inside the biggest city! Im telling you guys, this will be big! Very Big! Get used to it, a great rivalry will emerge. No interleague thing here, it will be a good thing for NY basketball, and good for the knicks.

My dad just asked me as I was reading this while he was in the other room:

Dad: "How do you like the Nets?"

Scott: "Yeah, they moved to Brooklyn,"

Dad: "Shall I buy season tickets?"

Scott: "Nah, I'm a Knicks Fan"

Man that felt good!

The best name i heard was the Brooklyn Sweathogs.
I think I heard somewhere that the Knicks and the Celts are the only 2 teams in the NBA that have been there since the begining and are in the same city that they started in.
