Among many other things was not getting Steph Curry in the draft last year. He got picked one spot before us and would have been the perfect player for this system. This bothers me more than almost anything else the last many years. He would have looked great in the backcourt either replacing Felton or alongside of him. The guy is a great shooter, decision-maker, and has future star written all over him. I'm not even mad over Jennings because i'm not convinced that he is a championship leading PG. But Curry will quickly become one of the most well-rounded guards in the league soon. I still can't get over him going one sport ahead of us, he was perfect for this rebuilding team, and would make this current team a top-5 team in the east and an instant contender when we add Melo.

We got so screwed over in that draft. On one hand, if Golden State had had anyone else other than Don Nelson in charge, they would never have picked Curry when they already had Ellis. On the other hand you had Kahn and his quest to take every point guard available. But then again there were still good point guards even after we picked- really, I see that draft as by far Walsh's biggest mistake.

all in all, that draft pick (hill) got us 3 players..

I know it was out of our control, but watching him drop every pick then get scooped up just before us hurt a lot. Maybe it's because i was more prepared for the lebron decision, but i felt more impact watching Curry come so close then get taken last second.

I am surprised you are not used to it by now.
The Knicks have Never tanked when it was appropriate to do so because of an ill placed sense of pride.
Had we tanked just 2 seasons in the last 10 years we would have CUrry and Prob Lebron on his Rookie contract.

The NBA is all about Ebb & Flow.
This team is already on the rise so it would be counterproductive to tank now.

But when we are back at the bottom in about 10 years we should tank away to get back on top.
Other teams do it all the time. Why not us.

seriously. at least Curry was off the board when we picked.

spilled milk list of picks us (and a LOT of other teams passed over):

2009: Jordan Hill over

Jennings, Holliday, Lawson when we needed a PG. Bigs take longer to develop. If Hill does the Jefferies trade looks worse.

2008: Gallo over

Eric Gordon, Brook Lopez, Roy Hibbert, Ibaka, Batum etc

Jury still out...though I'd rather have Gordon.

2007: Wilson Chandler over

Rudy Fernandez, Aaron Brooks, Afflalo, Tiago Splitter, Carl Landry, Marc Gasol

Jury still out..I'd rather have Gasol

2006: Renaldo Balkman over

Rajon Rondo

2005: Channing Frye over

Granger

In our defense the draft is just a crapshoot and countless other GMs passed on all these guys
