If D'Antoni insists on playing this type of basketball we need a SG who can stroke the 3 and get his own shot at any point. OJ Mayo is rumored to be available and at this point we should consider pursuing him. Maybe randolph/fields can get the job done? Gallo is the only semi-consistent shooter on this team and even he has 3-15 games pretty frequently. Douglas, Chandler, and felton have not done anything to prove they are anything besides streak shooters. It's shown this season because when those 4 guys are having a good night we are tough to beat, but most nights they don't shoot well. I love fields but he was a second round pick and if we can package him and randolph for OJ Mayo we would be crazy not to do that. A four man rotation of Felton, Douglas, Mayo, and Chandler is fine for now, and when azibuke gets healthy he will play some mins at the 2. I've seen fields hesitate on too many open 3 pointers already and if we ever want teams to stop double teaming STAT and collapsing the defense on him, those shots need to be buried.

the difference is ,mayo can also pass and create for others.. TD and chandler just are not good at moving the ball or creating for others....

I think we are fine at the PG with Felton and Douglas, but Felton likes to drive and dish to 3pt shooters instead of running the pick and roll, and since gallo has been shooting poorly we dont have anyone who can flat out stroke the 3. Mayo seems to be an intelligent consistent player who plays solid D and can shoot the 3 well. We have some good players, but i think we are trying to fit a round plug in a square hole with wilson and fields. They are not shooters they are slashers, and we need shooters in this system

I think he had a bad wrist or hand injury prior to last year and has never really made it back. He may just be done. At this point Mason and Rautins serve no purpose. The Knicks might be doing Rautins a favor if they just let him go to Europe. At least he could play and make a good living. I don't he is a d-league guy because the talent level just isn't there with him.

Im high on OJ Mayo. I prefer to play Felton AND Mayo in the backcourt though.

I agree completely. There is very little respect for our shooters and the paint is crowded. I seriously want the 08-09 knicks back with jamal and zbo. they were a real good offensive team.
