I was always curious to see how teams decided quickly about 2nd round selections when there is only 2 minutes per pick, you have no idea who will be left on the board, and there are so many players to choose from. I am very excited having added Fields to this team. He has that Shane Battier type of impact where his numbers don't reflect his value and he is a good starter or 6th man in this league for a long time. He's the type of player that adds the identity this team needs from its role players, not high-ego players who think they are better than they are (hughes, francis, marbury, harrington, the list goes on.) Hopefully the knicks get Melo and i see either Gallo or another strong shooter at the starting SG position long term, with Fields as an ideal 6th man being able to come off the bench and provide a little of everything for 25-30 mins per game. It's refreshing to have that type of player on this roster. |
