Walton just said "I believe that this NY team has more than enough to win the Eastern Conference, in the Playoffs. They're too far behind to win the regular season."

That's a topic that should be shelved until we make another trade.
Case is right- EC finals champs is something we can't realisticlally consinder being, until we aquire a bona fide post player.

If we lose this game, watch the trade happen real quick. Isiah is not trying to waste any time.

Better yet, even if we win, Zeke should plainly see the areas the team remains deficient in. It can still happen, either way.
Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

OK, we lost. The clock is ticking till the next deal. It's time to improve the front line. Let the criers cry, the whiners whine and the haters hate... To hell with them, Pull The Trigger, Zeke!

Trading for Curry and developing Sweets is the answer.

Rasheed "(African) American Psycho" Wallace is not the answer, but will be part of the problem.

Honestly, how many teams have good front lines in the NBA? the elite teams, that's who... and it's sad to think Brad Miller constitutes Elite in the NBA...

Deke is decent, but a fossil.

the only way we are getting a stud is if some team panics to dump a player. Not a lot of team are looking to add Deke, Thomas and Frank in extange for their stud post player.

exactly fish, i think curry, artest, harrington - those are all pipe dreams. frank and sweets could get us a NICE player, not a stud. and by NICE player, i mean someone like a rodney white. a very little outside shot at stromile - but we could go after those two with the MLE next year.

and talking about the MLE - what about hedo turkoglu? would he be a nice fit for us? i don't know, especially with penny here, but i wouldn't mind playing hedo at the backup 3 and penny at the backup 1/2 and go with a 3 guard rotation.

in fact, what do you guys think of this - make a deal (like kurt and some other players) for shareef abdur rahim (i can't believe i just suggested that) and sign hedo with the MLE? what do you guys think of that?

I don't believe the Knicks are ever going to completely develop anyone. The corporate culture just won't allow it.

Previously I would have agreed. Knicks kinda have new management and I think anything can happen.

IIMO a few teams are gonna panic, and Isiah will pounce on the right opportunity (or opportunities) to better the team.

What seems interesting from the responses is that most of us now have confidence that IT will do the right thing. We should also keep in mind that what he says may be a smokescreen to the real deals he is trying to work.

I know that some are smokescreens, but whatever happens, whatever deal that gets made, I'm confident it'll improve the team when all is said and done.

Good Post, Sage.

JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

Previously I would have agreed. Knicks kinda have new management and I think anything can happen.

I think the evidence points to a return to the old ways:

1. Frank Williams (a player the team has partially developed during the hated Layden/Chaney era - something they did right IMO) gets no PT and is part of many proposed trade deals
2. Lampe was traded
3. Sweetney's back on IR
4. We traded away future first round draft picks to get Marbury (I'm not sure I fully understand how this works - I think the Suns only get to use the picks if the Knicks don't make the playoffs?)

That doesn't look like a franchise that wants to develop young players to me.

How many have said Dolan is the problem, well he isn't going anywhere so that leaves ZEKE AS THE NEW PUPPET NIN TOWN.
