I keep hering people say we had to get someone, since LBJ went to miami, i thought we sign amare before james even made his mind up..Why does everybody act like amare was plan E.

And wtf is up with TnT, they completely rip us like were a D-league team. It was all about what the bulls were doing wrong, rather then what the knicks were doing right. I wanted to choke the living crap out of Kerr, barkley, and even marv. It's just no love for the knicks on TnT.

I'm not sure what TT was thinking about when he left Rose on the bench, not sure what message he was trying to send, but it's almost like he said- fck it we got bigger fish to fry against boston- these guy's aren't worth the energy, let me see what my subs are all about. Overall I the knicks still arent getting any respect

Rose looked like he gassed himself and maybe it was pissing off his supporting cast. He is still young and still learning leadership and when to apply himself and when to get others involved. He seemed to be imposing his will effectively but not sustainable.

Maybe his coach was instructing him to do one thing and he was ignoring him. It happens.

Barkley going off on Amare's 3 game stats was stupid. Kerr is obviously going to support Sarvers position because it was his position. Basically that Amare won't hold up in years 4 and 5 on his contract. Its a valid concern but one we won't know until then.

coming in 1-2 with our star not putting up stats had the makings of a bad game. That was a big road win for us and it earned respect.

Bulls will be better with Booze and we'll get better.

True, but here's the breakdown:

Kerr was behind letting Amare leave Phoenix and it is therefore in his best interest that Amare be seen as a "risk" and eventually breakdown so he can say I told you so. Marv has no love for the Knicks since being unceremoniously dumped by Dolan. Barkley is a tired old tool worried more about Marv and Kerr not recognizing Dr. Oz in the crowd than the game. He's long been one to dismiss the Knicks and that hasn't changed.

Rose wasn't lifting his team. He wasn't hurting them as he was creating and making shots, but he couldn't get the rest of the guys into the game. The runs they made at the end were without him. If TT was saving the team for Boston, he's going to have a tough year. You can't give up games in the hopes of saving your team for the "big" teams, every win is important and every loss is bad (at least when all is said and done). Unless you're betting on the game, you don't coach or manage to lose.

I don't understand the timeline Kerr is talking about. What is the history of players who have the same operation as Amare had. Who are those athletes that took a year to come back, came back too full health knee-wise, and then wilted after 5-6 years?

Kerr should also remind everyone that the reason they got Nash was that the Dallas organization that Steve would not hold up through his next contract because of injury problems; meanwhile, he is on his second PHO contract.

Too true. There's a reason Kerr's no longer the GM in Phoenix and it's not really something that was his decision.

Rose had 14 ast after 3 qtrs, how is that hurting the team. i personally feel that the bulls are not there even with boozer. Detriot sucks really bad, and they kept harping on the fact that they came back from 21 down @ home to one of the worst teams in the league.

I always thought Barkley was TnT's mascott, so I rearly take anything he says seriously. Kerr, former suns exec, and former bulls player, analyse that game like a bitter ex husband. Marv wasn't that bad, but he took his shots here and there.

It really boils down to risk management. Knicks got more money than Phx and that knee is not insured. A contract like that can kill a smaller owner. Perhaps is Amare had lessor offers or the same he might have stayed. Perhaps he is genuine in his love for NY and "the money don't suck either".

I can respect PHX position as a business decision.

Knicks needed Amare a lot.

As for Nash, I believe his fist PHX contract after Dallas was like 65 million and was deemed very reasonable at the time. Dallas made a bad choice but it was the system that really elevated Nash to HOF status.

Berman has an article that spells out logically if the Suns are setting and going nowhere Nash becomes available. He states (Kerr) we don't have the tools to get a Nash deal done like we don't have either for Carmello. Berman being a ***** says nothing to the fact that Nash might have trade clause and I doubt he goes anywhere he does not want to. Personally I like him and would enjoy him in a knick uniform but his elite days are likely behind him but I could see him for us to go deeper in the playoffs. That scenario is not in the present. Nash would be wise to get to a true contender like the Magic as Nelson seems to get hurt often and they have a similar type game. Nash as backup is a better alternative than White Chocolate and Duhan. Nelson could start but its who finishes that matter.

If knicks go all in with trades that elevate our expectations then perhaps. If felton is doing the job I doubt you make a move. Of course HOF-MVP Nash is better but its the circumstances.

I like Nash on the knicks but it depends on the price and the Circumstances. Can't just get Nash as a starphuch addition after you gave the team to Rainman. Unless you trade the Rainman for Nash. Thats not gonna happen.

After 4-5 games most teams are not set. The knicks have been bad for years so they have to earn their reputation. The last time they were on National TV they were bad. Really bad!!!

Kerr was OK and had the perspective from the Suns view and naturally would defend his/their position. He likley still advises sarver.

If we play .500 ball and beat good teams along the way we'll earn that respect.

Barkley is comic relief.

Marv Albert was calling games in 1968. Dude is a vampire!

Funny thing is I never had the sense that he had that many assists during the game.

He was playing 1 on 5 at certain parts of the game. He is almost impossible to guard, but there were many times when he was playing as if nobody else was on his side.

Still, I was pretty surprised that he was kept out for as long as he was.

I can also respect the PHO position but it was not a well thought out one. They HAD to have known that they were not going to fully extend Amare for a full 5 and that there would be GREAT risk losing him. In retrospect they should have had that planned out at the beginning of 2009 and traded him to get value back.

Did they really think that Amare, at 27 years old, would accept only 3 years being guaranteed on his contract and have minutes clauses in his contract for the rest? This is not the NFL, no NBA player does that unless it's bonus related.

Let the TNT and whomever continue to talk. Only makes it more satisfying if we do become a good team and get to hear them squirm or eventually have to suck up to the Knicks because their marketing department tells them to.

I agree, I also believe that kerr wasn't that bright as a gm to begin with.

I too sensed an anti Knicks presence on the TNT and realize that it is fasionable to be anti NY. ESPN does it so why shouldn't TNT. The Knicks should use this as motivation and shut their pie holes.

Ever since Kenny Smith got lowballed by MSG (He was offered way less than he expected to do more Knicks broadcasts) he has been completely anti Knick on TNT. Not that I thought Kenny Smith was actually a remotely good color commentator. He was awful.

Barkely will have something fair to say, and HIS criticism was fair about Amar'e. He absolutely has to rebound more. From what I saw of the game, Steve Kerr praised the Knicks whenever they played well.

they won't get any respect until they earn some... if they keep winning games like last night, then the tides will change eventually.

Good points. I know they tried to move him to Cleveland and Golden State last year. Im wondering if his agent flat out told them what they wanted for a new contract and it made them back off. And we don't know the players and their contracts offered in return.

Cleveland if they had JJ hickson as the centerpiece it could have been worth it but Amare might have balked a the thought of playing in cleveland even with Lebron. Its Still cleveland.

I went off when I heard Chuck say the Knicks were a BAD TEAM and that teams like Chicago should not lose to Bad Teams at home. Now it's clear that the Knicks have revamped and we had only played 3 games, 2 against top teams and didn't get embarrassed, so I felt his point wasn't valid. How are the Knicks a Bad Team this year? We have an All Star and a few budding stars. Most analysts predict at least a 7 seed, so I ask why was Chuck allowed to get away with saying we were a Bad Team? This is why I can't stand Chuck and his out of control mouth. There are other reasons I can't stand him but he's so offbase most of the time that it's embarrassing.

Then despite the defense we played, the blocks, the steals and the execution on offense, they couldn't give us any credit. I don't feel that Chicago is that great. In fact this is why I feel our team has a chance to be much higher than 7 or 8 seed. We're eventually going to get better and I think we're competitive with some of the teams ahead of us. We'll see how they talk about us as the season goes along.
