Yesterday I googled Fazekas just to see what he was up to and I saw that he was the 1st player taken overall in the NBDL draft (true story -- I didn't follow the D-League draft at all..LOL). Interesting big man -- 6'11", 240-ish, can post up, good shooter with very good touch & range out to NBA 3, good FT shooter and he's always excelled as a rebounder. Kinda reminds me of a bigger, better version of Michigan State's Paul Davis (Davis was with the Clippers at one point, not sure if he's even in the league right now though)..NF isn't a blow-you-out-of-the-water athlete by any means (though not terrible), just a pretty good basketball player imo that might be able to help us...The Reno Bighorns grabbed him with the 1st pick so whatever personnel the Knicks have assigned there will be able to watch and evaluate him firsthand. We should definitely be keeping a close eye on this dude. If he excels early on, I'd cut Mason Jr. conceeding whatever money is owed to him and contemplate adding a player like Fazekas -- not great business I suppose but for what they gave Mason along with the quick emergence of Fields and the fact that we go about 5 deep at the 2 right now minus Mason anyway (not even counting Azu who's progressing and may be close to resuming 5 on 5 soon), Donnie needs to convince Dolan that substituting Mason for another inexpensive player that could actually help us in areas of need/weakness is something that's in the best interest of the team. To be honest I may not even wait for Fazekas to play well and start showing his worth -- I might approach him & make this happen right now..Posesses a similar game to Channing Frye, though this guy may be able to contribute more as an interior scorer and definitely more as a rebounder.
