Who's with me?

A real center, no more PF fixes to fill the slot. No, he's not Ewing, but he's what Curry was supposed to be at least. He comes to play, is in shape, and motivated. I doubt he'll be available, but I'd love to have him paired with Amare and Melo or Wilson.

I think Briggs is with you.

He'd be a nice pickup, but you have to wonder if he will be available.

Memphis is in a world of hurt financially and they just extended Mike Conley. Strange move.

This coming offseason they need to extend both Zach Randolph and Gasol.

Something is gonna come loose.

Better chance of getting Oden than Marc Gasol. Grizzlies are resigning everyone They seem to have a plan and I think the plan will eventually lead them to Seattle.

i second martin.. interesting thoughts there vmart, you may be very well right. they gotta get that arena situation taken care of first though. if they get past that hurdle, that is a very good basketball town and i think stern defintiely puts someone back there, whether it's them, sacramento or new orleans.

“A lot of times we say we traded the wrong guy and tell him that Marc is a tougher, more powerful player than he is. [Marc] doesn’t have the shooting touch yet, but his defense, his rebounding is very good. He gets a kick out of playing against Pau. He’s actually a little more physical than Pau is. I like to bring it to [Pau's] awareness.” - Phil Jackson

I would imagine they let Z-Dumb walk and OJ Mayo before they lose Gasol.

In the end, Memphis did ok with trading big bro. They got financil relief and got a Gasol in return.

He still gonna get better!!!!

I want OJ Mayo too. Let's see how deep those Memphis pockets really are and steal some of their thunder.

But he's a rebounding beast and played really well in MDA's system. He also has a reliable jumper, and would not look bad along side Amare, either one can play c for little while, and amare would see much less doubles-if any at all.

I'm not saying it should be a 1st option, but definetly should be explored

Gasol is 25 yrs old.

Randolph is 29 yrs old.

One is solid at both ends the floor while the other is an offensive beast who plays terrible defense. This will be an easy choice for Memphis.

Regardless, if he gets to RFA this Summer, as Donnie Walsh you have to max him out and force Memphis to match.
(assuming no melo)
lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

On defense, a Zach/Amare combo is a disaster.
