After all said and done, the defense, no perimeter offense, the chemistry, the rebounding, felton/Amare, melo, Gallo, throw that out the window for now.

We were in postion to win the last 2 games easily, if we make FT's..I'm just not understanding how the importance of making Ft's doesn't come up around here or in the post game..You lose by 5 points and miss 9 FT's..WTF look no further.

When you weak in other area's, you have to capitalize in area's you can control. Against the rapts, we miss 2 Ft's and won by 5...Boston we miss 9 Ft's and lost by 4..Portland we miss 9 FT's and lost by 5...

I get annoyed by Turiaff's free throw shooting, he holds the ball just wrong when he shoots the free throw.

He's not a good FT shooter to begin with, and everything about his approach, makes you close your eyes and pray thats he hits it.. Ironicly, he's taking the second most FTs on the team and is shooting 50%.. amare 66% chandler (who's only taking 6 FT attemps so far) 66%.

Yeah last night I was saying to my son that missed FT's was the biggest problem. Sure the shooting is a problem as is the awful PnR but we still found ourselves in the game with a chance to win. The Blazers and Celts closed the games with smart a solid execution and it's not realistic to expect that from the Knicks this soon but FT's should be made at a higher % than we've seen so far.

I am actually impressed with the Knicks so far. Both Portland and the Celtics are teams that have been together for multiple seasons, and we are a very new team that have not played together nearly as much. Down the stretch I liked the cohesiveness the Knicks displayed, the rotations on defense were great. On offense, we were definitely out of sorts. Felton and Amare tried to bring us back from the brink by themselves instead of trusting their (new) teammates. I hope these games serve as lessons that they need to play in the system and only take the shot if its open. On one of the last plays I saw Amare receive the ball near the top of the 3 point line and he tried to drive it into Portland's 1-2-2 zone... Clyde said it best... he needed to pass the ball. At that point I would have given Rautins some burn to try to punch through the zone.

Portland was crafty though, they didn't stay in the zone, they were switching back and forth near the end. We need to practice against defenses that switch from zone to man to man so that we can recognize what's going on better. The team is still young and they need to be smart about recognizing defenses better.

Rose is not the answer.

This team is gonna go thru some problems when they things for the 1st time as a group. We need to remember that they need time to go thru the league and see some things. I think this team shows a lot of promise for the future. At some point we'll go up against the soft part of the schedule too so this team will have plenty of shots to win games and get into the playoffs.

I like the fact that it isn't just one or two guys who are stepping up. Lots more weapons this year on offense. They have to work on making it easier on Amare by getting him the ball in motion. Not to mention like many others here have pointed out, working on the pick and roll with Felton. On defense, it feels like they've already exceeded their total blocks from the last 3 years. Still lots of work to do on both ends but considering this is almost an entirely new team, so far so good.

I don't know weather to be encourage or not, we played very well in the past against .500 and above teams, and lost a lot of close games. We lost to portalnd last year by a roy ( in the final secs) bucket, we also beat boston last year and swept the hawks.

The problem then was we didn't have a closer, leader, goto guy in the final minutes.
