I'm not saying he's turned into a 20pp guy, but he's sure playing like one.I figured since we're talking about how "great" Blake is, we might as well give a Knick some props as well.
for me, the situation of Chandler in the starting lineup versus off the bench can be equated to promoting someone in a job to a higher level position even when they are doing AWESOME in their current capacity and may not/prob will not do well at the next level (promoting someone until they are incompetent at their job, we have all heard that).
Call it chemistry in the starting lineup, need for scoring off the bench, Chandler's ability to sub in a 3 to 4 different positions... I just think he works better off the bench. And that's not a knock on his ability or numbers, just a better fit. Also, this allows Fields to play with first unit - better ball facilitator and moves better without ball and not as focused as a primary scorer off the bench with second unit.
Within the starting lineup, Felton and Amare should be the first option and perhaps Gallo is next in line? That means Chandler gets lost and complacent. Bring him off the bench and he knows that he needs to provide that punch with the second unit, leading them in scoring.
Plus, for me, Chandler doesn't seem to always fit into the flow of what the offense is trying to do... taking shots that really should be taken early in the clock or settling for jumpers. In the second unit you have more flexibility/room for error in that area.
