Looks like he gets better every year. I wish Gallo would take a hard look at how Dirk plays--he basically has removed the 3 point shot from his arsenal and just cant miss his mid range jumpshot.
His game is real old school NBA when they would take the 12-14 foot jumpshot. Gallo has the size skill ability to set up square in that mid range area and use an easier softer stroke shooting over guys. I don't mind 1-2 3's maybe more if he hits the first 2--but the guy needs to set his game up differently--from 12-14 feet on the other side of the key from where Amare is setting up.

He needs to do something. I have to say, Gallo looks terrible. Hes been holding the ball, getting lost on defense, and hes added some weird step back move that i havent seen go in yet. We really need him to advance his game if were going to have a shot of the playoffs.
Im done being patient with him. He needs to step up now.

I generally agree that at some point Gallo needs to become more of a mid-range player, but that cant be the case right now. With as few reliable outside shooters as this team has, a big part of his role at this point has to be keeping the defense stretched to prevent them from collapsing into the paint. Maybe in the future when / if buke gets healthy and makes a return to form there will be someone to keep the defense adequately stretched.

That being said, for all the criticism, which is a bit premature at this point in the season, I think Gallo had a decent game. His shot wasnt falling all that well, but he grabbed some rebounds towards the end of the game. He was open quite a few times towards the end on the outside but Amare had tunnel vision and was making turn overs.

Isn't Gallo doing what the coach wants him to do?

He is taking 3's cuz Mda ball that's what they do.
