in practice today

Perhaps waiving Williams and someone else and bring in Rolle and Barron might not be a bad idea? We were short on the interior anyway and now looks like we are down 7-1 and 6-11

Moz is just a bruised hip (doubt he's the --Eddy Curry-- type to allow minor stuff to miss games). But AR4 and ankles, I bet, will be a career long problem.

it's in the tweets "Moz limped to training room holding left hip" AR" ankle- day to day"

Bill Simmons on Tyreke Evans "The prototypical 0-guard: Someone who handles the ball all the time, looks for his own shot, gets to the rim at will and operates best if his teammates spread the floor to watch him."

I was just going to suggest that we should've signed Rashard McCants for instant offense and outside shooting. But if AR's ankle situation turns out to be a nagging problem, then a vet like Earl probably isn't a bad idea. I'm guessing will probably play a lot of small ball anyway, so we may see Chandler and Shawne Williams get spot minutes at power forward in the meantime.

with 14 roster spots--you need to allocate 3 to C

Amar'e is just going to have to suck it up and get used to the idea that he's going to have play spot minutes at Center. It's not ideal, but the picking for solid rotation guys at the center spots are slim right now. I don't have any problem with them dropping Williams and bringing in Earl, but it would be the understanding that Earl will play under emergency situations.

Well we're at 15 with Williams -- he and PEJ were duking it out for the last spot. Williams won it and that leaves us at 15. The move I'd make right now would be to unload Mason Jr. and then use that roster spot on 6'11" PF/C Dwayne Jones who was just cut by PHX a couple of days ago.. Big enough, content doing all the dirty work, hits the glass extremely hard, knows his role. I really think he'd be perfect. Mason's $1.4M dollar contract is fully guaranteed I'm sure but F it --- we don't need him...We've got Fields, Chandler, Douglas, Walker and Rautins who can all play the position plus something to look forward to with Azu if he can make it back by Christmas.. S Williams could probably play there as well in a pinch (they're saying he shot the lights out this preseason and deserved it over Ewing Jr.). It ain't super sexy but we've actually got some pretty good depth at the 2 even w/o Mason in the fold. And when you get right down to it, Mason was horrible this preseason...Waive him, eat whatever we owe him (which amounts to chump change for Dolan), chalk it up as a mistake and immediately sign Jones. Then go to war...That's what I'd do..Don't know if it's possibly now that the rosters have been finalized though...Would Mason continue to take up a roster spot even if we cut him? Not sure..

Anyway, Jones would've been my guy here the moment the Suns cut him loose. He'd be a great option to have around if Turiaf & Moz aren't getting it done -- a guy we can go to that you know won't having any problem rebounding the damn ball. I think he might be the best rebounder we could possibly get right now for the money. And rebounding looks to be a flaw with this club to start the season.

I hope this is just some bumps and bruising but nothing serious. I'm looking forward to seeing Moz out there to start and gain experience. As for Amar'e playing C, he said he had no problem with doing it for stretches of a game just not as the primary C out there like Lee had to do.

Both Moz and AR need minutes so hopefully these aren't serious or nagging injuries.

Briggs, you gotta get over the idea of signing guys at this point. We're sitting just under the cap and going over it comes with a lot of strategic sacrifice. Too much to give up for a center who will maybe play spot minutes.

If we're going to make a move for a big, it has to be a trade at this point.

Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

Knicks say Anthony Randolph (sprained ankle) out for Tuesday's opener. X-rays were negative. ... Mozgov (contused hip) is questionable.

No Randolph tomorrow.

That's a shame. We really need to get this kid on the court as much as possible so he can get some seasoning and reduce his mistakes. He's DEFINITELY going to be the 2nd best player on the team in a year or two, bu right now he's way too green.

Yes, but there are certain moves that only a team under the cap can make, so Donnie would have to have an amazing player ready to sign to the min in order to give up that flexibility.
