i know that folks have chimed in elsewhere, and if there is another post with this somewhere, my apologies...

mine: 39 wins

...but, barely holding onto that number...my gut is telling me to lower it even more than what i had initially expected coming into pre-season (minimum .500).

i think we will struggle early in the season, which depending on how badly, could push us below 39 and more into the 36-37 range...

EDIT: Disclaimer - this is barring a deal for melo and more focused on the team, as is.

I'll go with my orginal prediction of 39-43, 8th in the East, swept by Miami in the 1st Round. And this is with a midseason trade for Carmelo Anthony that will save the season.

Im going middle of the road at .500 ball and being a bit of an optomist at the same time.

Its gonna start ugly, we go 1-4 then schedule gets easier.

But other teams also have had made changes and not everyone has set lineups either.

All this barring injury and Melo trade. Melo in town I have to see what we give up.

my expectation is 41 wins or more, but my prediction is this team will underachieve & get only 36-38 wins this season.

if we land Melo then it obviously changes things.

After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.

36-46

Unless they make some deal during the season to improve or I would love to be wrong hope Gallo and Chandler come up big and become consistent players.

I don't think this team breaks .500... they will come close though.

The problem I see is that the East isn't that much of a cakewalk.

The Nets got a great coach in the off-season (Avery). They have an early draft pick (Derrick Favors) and I don't think they will underperform under Avery.

The 76ers have a pretty good point guard (Jrue), a good coach (Doug Collins), and the 2nd pick (Evan Turner). I still think Brand is decent and Iggy is Iggy (good).

The Raptors lost Bosh but they have great rebounding (Reggie Evans, Amir Johnson) and Linas Kleiza and Bargnani looked good in the pre-season.

The Celts are the Celts... and they have added depth at Center with the ONeal's.

I think our Division is tougher than people think... and we will be unpleasantly surprised expecting easy wins from our division rivals that will end up being tough games.

Rose is not the answer.

43-39, 7th in east. We lose in the first round to Orlando in 6 games.

If there is a mid-season trade for Melo, we will finish 47-35, 5th in the east and beat Chicago in the first round in 7 games then lose to Miami in 6.

I have been wrong 4 of the past 4 years, but I am going to go at it again and say the Knicks finish with a .500 or better record and win 41-44 games.

44-38 games and the playoffs if the team, especially Amare, stays healthy.

I was originally in the 45-50 range. After seeing the pre-season, I would say that 42-44 is much more realistic.
