Hmmm that is interesting. It could be interpreted a couple of ways. It could be precursor to a deal or a move to give the players confidence.

Or maybe, you know, they just wanted to do the inevitable and exercise the option.

Is this a good idea? If the Knicks are already overvaluing these guys or more importantly, Denver isn't particularly interested in them, how does this help the team IF acquiring Melo is in fact a or the goal?

Had they acquired a partner for Amare, I wouldn't blink, but given that that didn't happen I'm trying to understand the logic. UNLESS the Knicks have given up acquiring Melo through any means other than free agency.

lol exactly. Teams tend to do it with first round draft picks. :-P

Rookie deals are very cost effective. There's no news here... Move along.
Rose is not the answer.

No news here, and I certainly hope no deal takes place before the February trade deadline ! We HAVE TO lower Carmelo's value, and he needs to help us with that if he wants to play for a good Knicks team. He has to know that he'll have a much better chance at a championship with the Knicks if we can keep Gallo, AR, Chandler, or two of the three at least.

Melo has to play tough and tell Denver he will only sign an extension with the Knicks, and keep that line until the trade deadline. Then Denver will have no choice but to trade with us for what we agree to trade, which will be better than nothing for them. A fair offer would be Curry + Gallo (play the same position as Melo) + 2 2nd rounders.

A friends uncle whose brother in laws cousins nephew knows a guy whose sister mother has an old roomates ex-boyfriend told his 5th grade teacher that the Knick front office was pondering a changer of coffee vender in the break room.

Thinking this is a prelude to Melo deal!
