If he's not perceived to be worth his contract value OR his contract extends beyond this season, doesn't his trade value go down. I like Wilson and I think he's the perfect sixth man for the Knicks (and as such the starter when either a SG, SF, or PF are out for whatever reason), but it seems he's fadder for a trade at this point. As such his value to a team amy be his skills combined with now commitment beyond this season (although I think most teams would re-up after seeing what he can bring to table after a season).
It seems we're being fed that the Knicks are doing what they can to get Melo, but they are also undermining those efforts with public critique of the players, extension talks, and the like.
