The New York Knicks' Stephon Marbury was named the Eastern Conference Player of the Week for games played Monday, January 12 through Sunday, January 18. The Knicks' Keith Van Horn was also nominated for the honor. Marbury shares the honor with Western Conference Player of the Week Michael Finley of the Dallas Mavericks. Marbury led the Knicks to a 3-1 record averaging 22.5 points, a league-high 12.3 assists and 2.5 rebounds, recording back-to-back double-doubles (points-assists) against the Dallas Mavericks and Orlando Magic. Van Horn averaged 25.3 points and 7.6 rebounds in three games played during the week.

good for steph. he played really well and especially got his team envolved. they are jelling and hopefully that jelling will come to an end soon and we'll see what the knicks can really offer to these powers of the east in the play-offs.
i hope he sees many of those with the knicks.

If knicks can finish strong, make playoffs as 4th seed, how would he not be MVP!

I'm not surprised that Starbury received the NBA EC POTW award; he'll rack up a few more of those before the season's over. Please believe it.
Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

All i can say is he deserved it...with the exceptions of the first 2 games he's been here, stephon has outplayed even kidd. He's always looking to pass first, but he's still able to get us back into games w/ his scoring.

KVH should have won it the last 2 weeks but he gets NO RESPECT !!!!
What does DICK CHANEY & DON CHANEY have in common ?? They both accidentally fell into a job they don't deserve & really suck at doing it !!!! Both need to be fired !!!

kvh played well but the team had lost 4 straight, the award is given for play as well as how the team does. the knicks didn't do that well so no award for kieth. the knicks went 3-1 with marbury the past weak so he gets the award, but kieth deserved it too this weak, thus the nomination.
