Forget about the potential to get Melo for a moment and think about trying to upgrade during the season at all.

Coach and Pres say Randolph is a "project". Danilo is "upset" about trade talks, potentially being perceived as too sensitive. Wilson doesn't have and isn't earning a role.

So who's going to be eager to take any of these players for an all-star, regardless of the parts they are packaged with. Is this the Knicks giving up on further upgrades, sensing a lack of interest in their pieces, and trying to get the fans to accept that what they see is what they get? It's now just keep your fingers crossed about getting any other big name players, be it Melo this season or next off-season AND even more so for CP?

I'm all for the truth as a fan, but when the staff and press are painting these guys in a bad light it doesn't help the team at all.

Its whats happening on the court that is doing the talking.

Naturally the media is gonna beat it to death.

Truth as a fan is always distorted. We extropolate the present into the future. Good or bad.

We go on a wins streak media will vouch "Who needs Melo?"

We have a losing streak its "We need Melo!"

Yeah I know, but depending upon what you believe that has been said/written weeks ago the Knicks were holding out and excluding Danilo and AR from being included in a deal for Melo. Right now it seems the Knicks would have a hard time trading them for the likes of AK from Utah. If things don't improve and Melo goes elsewhere, Walsh is done and we'll have to deal with IT again...if Dolan has anything to do with it, and he has EVERYTHING to do with it.

But it's bigger than Melo. It's any elite player to be traded for or future free agents. Outside of Amare the pieces are losing value with every step on the court and recap in the press. So they lose trade value and aren't attractive teammates for free agents.

Of course I'm just speculating, but it as has been stated, the youth on the Knicks are loaded with potential, but potential doesn't win games. Good playing wins games and these fellas aren't playing winning basketball. If this is what the Knicks were left after the last two seasons of cleaning house, Walsh's plan was a failure. Of course we won't know until a season or two, but most propositions are 50/50 and this glass is currently looking half empty.

Reality is Denver has its head up its arse and could not manage the complexity last month to get the deal done.

It didn't get done for other reasons we might not know.

LIke Melo saying "NO".

Our getting Melo has nothing to do with what we can or cannot offer. Melo can walk at years end but he walks with less money perhaps under a new CBA.

He wants his cake so he has to play nice and perhaps compromise. Thats the Nets. Play one season in Newark and get your money, play with the Russian and his baby giraffe and your the king of Brooklyn.

Or hold a gun to Nuggs head and tell them you don't care about the money cuz its gonna be there and if they want SOMETHING then they do something with the knicks.

Regarding being able to get the Nuggs a no. 1 pick or not wanting what we got thats all fanfaire fluff and has nothing to do with the real issues relative to Melo being traded or walking.

Melo will not talk, and nor should Nuggs. Nuggs got to sell tickets and put lipstick on the pig of the season where Melo is going to protect his body until he is dealt.

Even if Melo signs here as a free agent we'll have to trade off reduncant pieces. Wilson and Gallo would be expendable.

Relax, watch the games yell as if you know better and drool over the greener grass that is everywhere but here.

I believe something will happen in novenber...trade wise, especially if the team gets off to a good start (8-5)
That would mean |value has risen, and like JC and zach, walsh won't waist time debating
