I notice alot of guys compare our young guys to players we see today. I think some of us forget how good some of these guys were when they came into the league.

I will admit I didnt get to see some of these young guys as much because I didnt have league pass but I do know guys like Lamar Odom and Kevin Garnett were tearing guys up. Lamar Odom has sick handles and was making sweet passes. Garnett was "The kid" and which is why he got that sick contract.

Then you have guys like Tim Thomas and Marcus Camby who could never put it all together but always showed "flashes" of being a very good NBA players.

I suggest you take a look at the NBA draft over the last 15 years.

These two do not belong in the same sentence together.

The Euro guys are on a different track, cuz IMO there's a small adjustment period. So far Gallo is on track after the same number of games to be a good player like many of the guys he gets compared to. Also we don't have any top 5 pick guys on our team so automatically these guys are as good as the guys who were top picks and by most observers destined to be great. We just have guys with some great potential in that next tier of prospects after the very top guys.

Im sorry, but Camby did put it together. Dude was DPOY, and anchors every team that he's on. He's a heck of a player even at his current age. He would have looked mighty nice next to Amare, seeing as though we could use his rebounding, defense, shot blocking, and a guy that can hit the open jump shot. He'd be perfect for this team. Yeah I know injuries were an issue when he was here but he really got it together after we traded him for dice. Him and fugazi should never be mentioned in the same sentence.

I think some are overrating Camby because he got that DPOY when he was 32 yrs old but came into the league a decade early as the #2 pick. I dont recall Camby being in high demand when he was CONSTANTLY injured. Camby career seems to last longer than most because he is always injured.

So Camby came into the league a decade early, but Randolph who is now a ripe old age of 21 has reached his ceiling.
Good point. Keep posting.

So Camby is a future HOF'er? Camby is just a solid big. He wasnt spectacular his entire career. You seriously think he reached his potential as the 2nd pick? Come on man.

I dont think Randolph has reached his ceiling but I also dont want Camby 2.0 sitting in NYC for the next decade either.
