Well according to you gallo randolph sck so why would Denver trade with us since we don't have 1's? Also did you notice how thin the Heat look once a player comes up lame--that is exactly what Im talking about. We have a team building and have additional cap space next year--patience

This is a question about PG depth

It seems like Felton has had different troubles

1. consistent handle--seems to fumble the dribble quite a bit
2. playing small at the rim
3. his passing has been only fair and his use of the P+r has been poor
4. Cant seem to push tempo
5. Looks lost in the halfcourt

Who's our 2nd?
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

Douglas. Excellent defender, takes care of the ball, scores very well, averaged 14ppg/4assists and shot 48% as a starter last year.

That guy.

He's a question. Look at the elite teams in the NBA. Now look at their backup PGs. Now look at their 3rd string PGs.

Why is this more a need for us then every other team in the NBA?

The issue is that, unless we're hiding it for the regular season, we can't currently run pick and roll. The offense is based off of that play.

That would seem to be a bit of a problem.

From that perspective, Rautins has looked better than Felton and TD.

I don't think we need to just yet.... It's too early to say Felton sucks just yet. Felton/TD/Rautins are our PG's for now and I don't think we are in a dire situation just yet.
Rose is not the answer.

Ridnour might have been a better signing for us.

Luke Ridnour isnt a play maker but neither is Felton. I prefer Felton after seeing Ridnour all last year.

I really think Rautins may have to be intergrated more, at least given a longer look for the remainder of pre-season...He could be exactly what you're calling for - Rautins looks like a smart, heady guard that knows how to deliver the basketball. Plus he can shoot..If not Rautins, just going on his plus talent, nice potential/upside and the fact that he's buried on his current team and he'd come cheap -- Patrick Mills continues to be a guy I'm interested in. Here's hoping that if we ever do pull the trigger on Rudy Fernandez we could also get Mills back in the same deal. He may not be the pure pass-first guy you're talking about but I see some real talent there with this kid. I think he's worth taking a chance on...Thing is he probably wouldn't play here either right away over Felton, TD, Rautins..Mills would be nice insurance though -- you can never gather enough talent that's for sure. He's wasting away in Portland right now...

Rautins is looking more like 'that' guy. He played smart defense on Rondo as well as making some good passing plays in the 4th Q that just weren't handled. MDA also went to him for the final shot...which he forced with time...you can see MDA likes him, and what's not to like

I was thiking the same thing about Luke he is just more efficient shooting the ball.

But I like Andy I think he has some very good qualities out there and can really pass the ball. Down there road he will be a solid bench chemistry guy

3rd point guard option was the question. I think Rautins is the the 3rd option and we don't need to look elsewhere

given the uncertainty behind felton, not sure 3rd doesnt become second a lot sooner then planned for this guy if he is indeed the 3rd option.

thats on the coach then. Both Douglas and Felton bring skills and positives to the table at the PG position. Neither may be great, but both are good and do some very good things, especially on defense. Both are very quick. Adjustments will need to be made and guys will need to know where guys are etc..

I remember the year the Knicks swapped Oak/Starks for Camby/Spree it literally took 50 games to really figure each other out.

Knick fans are impatient because of the all the losing. Cant blame them. While I do believe this is a work in progress its going to take some time.

I think this was really the fist true preseason game as the game in Spain was against a euro team and the Minny in Paris game was tainted by exaustion and bonding moments.

SO last nite was the first exposure.

I don't think you really consider making any moves just yet.

I am not enough of a professional to really pick apart why Felton looked bad but the team did good while he was in.

Also I don't know what looked right other than the obvious.

If we all think it will take at least 20 games then with still 5 preseason games left are we already calling for feltons replacement.

Ridenhour wanted 3 years. We overpaid felton (in my opinion) so he would take a 2 year deal.

Felton is an asset, an asset with a reasonable contract, and one that expires after next season.

Donnie Walnuts is looking down the road also.

Lets be real, Felton is likely a solid backup. We do with him for now until he gets better or an opportinity presents itself.

Rebuilding has unanswered questions early in the process.

Should we pick up a third PG?
