on one hip now, and will need the other operated on in the future.

Bucks rookie guard Darington Hobson has undergone successful surgery on his left hip and will miss the remainder of the season.

Hobson had the surgery on Tuesday in Milwaukee and will undergo a similar procedure on his right hip later this year.

Milwaukee drafted Hobson with the 37th overall pick in June's NBA Draft.

Feel bad for the kid, but we are looking better and better with how we did this past draft, whether you look at who we drafted or who we did not, or could not, draft. Hell, we could have ended up with Gallon or Stephenson, instead of Fields or Rautins.

Hobson seemed to be the guy we wanted, although a number of names were thrown around, and we might have been putting up a smoke screen to hide our interest in Fields.

I think there was some decent talent we could have picked up after we took Fields and Rautins, but Fields has pretty much convinced me that he has a place in this league, and Rautins is suddenly looking a lot better than he did after his terrible showing in the SL, to the point where he may get minutes every now and then.

Amazing how events can take a turn one way or another, and folks discover that they have to reevaluate their thoughts, judgments, and opinions on issues they seemed so sure about at one time.

So it goes.

Hobson was brought in as a cheap project guard. This really doesnt effect the Bucks. Are the Knicks missing Jerome Jordan?

I rather have Stephenson. He had a domestic issue but I'd still like him on this team.

I thought Armon Johnson was the guy we were hot to trot after.

I still think Larry Sanders will be the sleeper of the draft, so the Bucks will be fine.

Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

Dream backcourt Arenas and Stephenson. Both of them can play for the jailhouse team while they do their time.

Arenas didnt go to jail and neither did Stephenson.

Im not saying what either did was right. Im saying what they did has ZERO to do with their production on the basketball court.

Lance Stephenson has no production on an NBA court but you can continue to get all hot and heavy for malcontent guards.

That's a bold statement saying you'd want Stephenson on your squad.

Hitting a punk in the stands who threw beer on you is different than throwing your girl down stairs and then hitting their head against the floor for good measure.

I saw this on a crawl on the bottom of the screen on the NBA channel this morning while watching the Rockets/Nets game...That's ashame..Seemed like a versatile kid that could do a lot of things..Hopefully he comes back strong but it doesn't look like we'll see him in the NBA for awhile considering he might have to get both hips done, one right after the other..Best of luck to him on his recovery.

Interesting take Pal -- maybe we did float that we had interest in Hobson when we really desired Rautins & Fields all along...Could very well be. It was kinda weird that it was all over the place that we wanted Hobson leading up to the draft wasn't it? He did go right before we picked so we'll never really know...Worked at well for us in the end -- we got two good players that should help us if they're ever given a chance. Three if you count J. Jordan -- hopefully he'll be in the mix next year..

Not my point, bro- and I never said that the Bucks missed him- in fact I was surprised they took him given the players they had of similar size.

I also don't see where Stephenson would fit on this team. No D, very sporatic outside shot, and NYC would be a major temptation for him.

Are these surgeries the result of pre-season injuries?

I don't think he even played in the SL. Don't recall what his original injury was, or if it was hip related.

Why have both hips operated on, though? That seems strange to me.

Sad situation, though.
