The Heat are in Kansas City to play the Thunder in a preseason game on Friday and LeBron James was scheduled to have a party at The Midland, a theater in downtown Kansas City, on Thursday night.

Durant received an invitation, but declined the offer.

"I don't go out to parties the day before a game," Durant said. "I really don't go out too much during the season."

Just one more reason why this kid is a top player in the NBA and will be for a long time

Kevin Durant must have a really good PR agent, cause he has been capitalizing on LeDouche's Q Rating drop. I mean this is a story that probably wouldn't have been published a year ago, but now he's seen as a hero and a hard worker for declining to party with LeBron.

As someone else posted on another site.. Durant is Re-establishing the rules of engagement... No more of this best buddy crap... Win on the court... I love how he just gave lebron a big facepalm....haha...

This is alot about nothing. When Kobe was having his sexual assault case everyone jumped on Lebron's schlong. Now Lebron made people mad now they jump on Durant's schlong. As soon as Miami wins a chip then everyone will be back on Lebron's schlong just like everyone hopped back on Kobe's schlong when he won.

Hope Durant stays "pure." Seems like a throwback athlete from another era.

Hard for me to root against a kid like this unless OKC is playing the Knicks.

This doesn't really say much besides Durant being a hard worker, which is great. But at the end of the day, Lebron can party all night and he'll still be considered something the NBA has never seen before. He'll have a better legacy than Durant imo because he's just much more fun to watch and will have way more rebounds and assists, not to mention a ring or three. The guy does it ALL. I'm a fan of KD, not only does he say the right things, he does the right things. He's gunning hard in the points category and competing with Kobe and Lebron in that category.
