Does anybody know if this affects our recent trade

SportsTicker

LOS ANGELES (Ticker) -- The Phoenix Suns placed forward Antonio McDyess on the injured list on Monday with tendinitis in his problematic left knee.

McDyess missed the previous four games due to soreness in the knee before being placed on the injured list. He has played only 45 minutes in four games since being acquired in an eight-player deal with the New York Knicks on January 5.

The 29-year-old McDyess has struggled with his left knee since tearing his patella tendon during the 2001-02 season with the Denver Nuggets. He also fractured his left kneecap while with the Knicks prior to last season.

McDyess, who returned after nearly a two-year absence on December 1, is averaging 7.2 points and 5.9 rebounds in 22 games this season. He becomes a free agent July 1.

To replace McDyess on the roster, Phoenix activated rookie forward Maciej Lampe. Also acquired in the trade with New York, Lampe was selected by the Knicks with the first pick in the second round of the 2003 draft.

The 18-year-old native of Poland has been on the injured list all season due to shin splints.

"Like they always say, New York is the Mecca of basketball,"I read that in Michael Jordan books my whole life and I played here in the Big East tournament, so it's always fun to play in the Mecca of basketball."---Rip Hamilton
