I have not been able to see the entire training camp video on the Knicks but I have watched about 45 minutes. I have loved the dialogue, analysis and interviews. However, I have not seen much that impressed me as far as what the players were doing during my limited time watching. I am just wondering if the Lakers training camp is similar or if there are major differences.

I saw the their practice and found it was useless. The players did nothing but run up and down jacking up shots. They ran no set plays it was chaos. If you want to watch a practice watch the Lakers they actually try to learn and accomplish something in practice. Hopefully it was because NBA tv was there.

Obviously Mike teaches his players a lot of technically intense stuff or else they wouldn't be so good on offense all these years and coaches as well as players wouldn't remark about how amazing he is at coaching offense. I wouldn't get too worked up about it. Remember that they're doing 2-a-days and we won't see everything they work on.

I watch some of the lakers camp, and yes, it is entirely different as far as coaching style and philosophy. It's a veteren team coming off 2 straight titles..they got 2 very solid role players in blake and barnes. There very deep, very experience, and play with the best/clutch player on the planet..Not to mention a 11 time champion Phil jack.

belive when kobe was ask about the miami trio he said.."I played with those guys, they could have all the MVP trophies they want, there not winning no championship against the lakers" it was something to that extent.

Did you listen to the broadcast on Real Training Camp? They were very clear that the morning session focused on much more X and O and in the night session there was more scrimmaging and competitive drills. They also said that the night session was focused on them running four plays. Now for D'Antoni---these are plays that come out of transition...not just 1/2 court sets....in other words relax a bit.
I have been lucky enough to go to Knicks training camp the last few years and have seen morning and night sessions...the morning generally instructs and then the next session is putting that into action.
All in all...let's just try to be positive going in to what should/could be the most exciting year we have had in way, way too long!!!!

Thanks for the perspective. I don't have a lot of faith in the coach but I love the roster. I was a bit concerned because I have never seen him actually teaching/coaching in the footage that I have watched and have never gained anything when I watched his show. Hopefully the morning practice was productive and he had his team working on things that will make his team better. I am still stinging from 1-9 coming out of last years camp.
