Gilbert Arenas just arrived, sporting a new # (9) & a full beard. No smiles. The man is all business. 21 minutes ago via ÜberTwitter Retweeted by WojYahooNBA and 1 other

I don't think he really did anything that bad- it was a practical joke that went very wrong. I don't think people should own guns let alone play around with them, but at worst he's a failed practical joker who didn't really think things through- he's not evil and he didn't hurt anyone, I kind of feel sorry for him and the way he's been demonized since last year.

His number means diddly. So if he gets a 40 that means 40 caliber.

Some people just love to reach.

Arenas did one of the stupidest things ever! He paid his price.

ONe can't really fathom just what a stupid thing he did.

From Mike Wise - Washington Post

To understand Arenas, you have to go back to the beginning. To understand his journey, where he has traveled and how he came to light up a moribund basketball team in Washington, you need to start over. To understand the player who gallops off the Verizon Center floor bare-chested after tossing his jersey into the stands following Wizards home games, who likes to practice alone in the middle of the night, who must own every DVD and collectible jersey he can buy, who is such an extroverted performer that he leaves work to become a solitary homebody, you have to go back to the rundown Overtown section of Miami. You have to go back to apartment No. 9. You have to go back to the mother who gave him up there.

Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

He was suspended for a year for bringing two nine millimeters into the basketball arena and then joking about it. Making his number "9" makes it seem like he's still joking about it.

You can pull out your heat and unload Tupac style. Oh wait... where is Tupac now?

Carrying a gun = living in fear.

ALL these guys can afford private security, not to mention that which the NBA and NFL makes available for free.

he paid the price...umm, there are people who are doing years for what he did so, exactly how did he pay the price. Justice for celebs, sports figures & the rich is not the same justice I'm subject too

the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt

Here's a question for you guys, do you think Arenas would've carried any gun if he happened to play in another country with intelligent gun restrictions?

I'm not trying to be anti USA, or instigate, I'm just curious to know what people here on UK think of the gun legislation in the US.

I think our gun laws are just plain STUPID, they are also testament of how much the right wing agenda has taken hold of this country. But to answer your question, I think the probability of this happening in a country where civilians are banned from carrying guns in public places would be very low.
