As the Knicks outlasted the Vince Carter less Raptors , NY fans are acting like they have already played against the big boys in the league. Just like a Virgin mindset You would think this is the 1st time this yr the knicks have won 4 games in a row and the juices are flowing for most knicks fans. The new look knicks have won 4 straight games under Hall of Famer coach Lenny Wilkens, but they also won 4 straight under a much maligned fired coach Don Chaney earlier this season before the Marbury trade. Now comes the challenge of playing away from the garden and against former head coach JVG in Houston on a nationally televised game. With Starbury a lay up is exciting a jump shot too, along with any steals. Garden owner JJames Dolan has to be dancing in the streets over the new found energy provided by THOMAS STARBURY AND CO. Before in the last 4 game winning streak under Don Chaney, they actually won with out the exciting style of Marbury at the point but a poised young 2nd yr guard in Frank Williams. This current roster with penny hardaway and Marbury has fans feeling that this team can battle the big boys in the league for a big playoff run. I for one haven't been convinced yet and believe the honeymoon play is about to be exposed Wednesday even though it seems like it's unbeatable now. If I am wrong,( like many times before) I will be happy and proud to sport my knicks jacket, license plates etc... again.

with chaney, did'nt we get torched by chicago and seattle? why are you so skeptical, playa? you were the "glass half full" person and npw that everyone else on the board is positive you want to bust our bubble? i thought you would be excited. have yopu been watching the games? do you see how the garden is rocking again? i have'nt felt this good about my team in awhile. do you dislike thomas too much to only view the bad points? this team is so confidant and comparing f.will, who i love to death, to marbutry is ridiculous. during the win streak you were talking about who did we beat? orlando and miami. powerhouses! we beat orlando practically without a coach! at least seattle could be a playoff team in the west which says something. just be happy and ride the wave.

Jazz, I view things a little different than you. When we won the 4 games under chaney I would bring out all the good things we were showing with a young 2nd yr pg and you guys would find all the wrong things to post about the knicks, go back and read them. Now that we have won 4 games with Lenny and I bring out some issues that few will bring up, all of a sudden you get ya panties in a bunch and wanna say I'm WRONG TO POST LIKE THIS.

shaking my head wondering if you think we are all robots?

Frank Williams is getting the shaft because Stephon Marbury is a better player. If you think FWill is better then Marbury then you have something seriously wrong with you.

FWill is a decent player but he is not as good as Marbury is now.

Playa2,

Did you not say just a few weeks ago, when the team was ****ty... that yo were not defending Layden/Chaney... you were just supporting the team, no matter who runs it.

During "your" 4 game win streak... "look at this team" "motion offense is the best ever" "KVH is the man", blah blah blah.

So now, everyone is excited about a 4 game winning streak, but not only that winning streak, but the direction that this team is now going in (trying to win instead of character), and the fact that we are in the playoff picture... and you can't be happy.

It's sad to see you act so foolishly

Ps.... you had said that the Knicks were going to lose this game because the Raps play D. And you said this after VC was already injured.

So now all of a sudden they win, and its the carter-less, bad raptors.

Playahata2.....Are u even a fan of this team? If the Knicks traded Othella Harrington for Tim Duncan would you bitch and moan about it? I know, I know Tim Duncan dont play "above the rim" right? come on man stop bitchin bout nonsense. If you dont think the knicks is a better team now than a couple of weeks ago u buggin. The reason Knick fans are excited is not because of a 4 game winning streak it is because this team is more talented and better coached than they were last month. If you cant see that then maybe you arent watching the games.

Playa has his heart in the right place-the knick bench but is too set on defending his earlier positions. He will come around-he even praised the Houston defense coached by what's his name-oh yes-JVG

Wow... and I just read the end of playa2's thread.... If he's wrong he might bring out his Knicks jacket and plates again? HAHAHAHAHA

So what... you had it out during the Layden era, but the Marbury trade was so embarassing you had to put them away?

He's getting the shaft playing behind MOOCHIE NORRIS. Steph is head and shoulders better than Frank. Get a clue man,by the way you're pretty good in fantasy b-ball man.

I agree FWill should be getting burn over Moochie - to me Norris is like Eisley and Ward, he is basically worthless. FWill has a future in this league. Who knows, we don't run the team so we have no clue why certain players are benched.

I dont need to post to read. I was hanging around here way before the first 4 game winning streak. This streak is much different IMO.

Also your sig. says Frank is getting the shaft because of "Ticket Sales" then your post says hes getting the shaft playing behind Moochie Norris. DO you really think Moochie sells that many tickets? hmmmmm.. I know everytime I'm in the Garden people say the only reason they bought there tickets were to see Moochie play his 7 min. a game. Worth the price of admission everytime. Come on man be consistant and change that sig.

Knicks were a work in progress under Chaney and Laydog. Problem was the process was way too long to satisfy its owners, and the Fans.

Laydog needed to be more vocal about this being the team, suck it up, and sell the future. He was trying to balance a sub-contender, with a long range plan. In time, he may have been right. But he had to sell his owner, the fans, and rebuild. Very ambitious task.

Thomas has bought the future in, and the garden rocks.

Playa, embrace and enjoy. Yes, some of us wanted a legit rebuild, but the future has been mortgaged, and if so, then just enjoy the ride where ever it takes. If he can get Crawford for Frank in principal, then its an upgrade. I don't know why Chitown would do it.

Heinrich looks like the real deal. But they need a shooting guard. Curry looked good, but he looked like a 32 year old man with a bad do.

Knicks need to make the playoffs, if our picks go lotto, I go crazy!

I root for Thomas and Wilk to do the right thing.

Funny, Wilk and Thomas are similar. Smooth, good dressers, nice smile, kinda sweet non macho character without being feminine.

Both are successful people. Thomas has his critics, but this is the knicks. Dolan is taking risks with Thomas and we get to see if he is really substancial.

Real test is where this team is in 2-3 years. Do we look back on our success? OR dreading the team is old, over paid, and losing again?

We'll see.......

The only contracts which don run out in three years are Sweets and SM. If it hasn't worked then there'es the cap room to maneuver but IT will have created an atmosphere where players want to play. He has already done that.

He has improved the current roster, created excitement and hope for the near term which did not previously exist except inb the minds of th eeternal optimists.

good post, nalod. we should enjoy every minute of this success becuase we do not know how long it will last. i am one of the spoiled fans from the 90's generation who always thought the knicks will be the upper echelon of teams. then layzie came. now, i fell like a proud fan again. no complaints now but who knows what the future holds.

Are you that slow? Frank is the middle child now(forgotten), once he was touted as being the next "clyde frazier" in starting lineup(not flashy like starbury) and now he's behind Norris. Marbury signing was the answer to a few things Ticket sales,he alsohas superior point guard skillz(+ been in the league longer than Frank.) Frank gets that shaft because of this being a business.... get a clue!
