Thomas comes back from Miami to take over?

Perhaps. Unfortunately, that remains a real possibility and he's apparently right in the thick of the Knicks' on-going efforts to get Carmelo Anthony.

Anthony's first choice is to come to the Knicks. He doesn't want to spend two or three seasons in Newark and then move to Brooklyn, even if Jay-Z is working behind the scenes to make it happen. Walsh and D'Antoni don't want to give up Danilo Gallinari in a package for the Nuggets' star. Meanwhile, Thomas has been telling Dolan that everyone short of Stoudemire should be offered to get Anthony to the Garden. Even if he has no business being involved in the team's operations, he's right on this score.

"There's definitely a power struggle going on," said a league source.

That's no way to run an NBA team, but that's how Dolan chooses to do business.

All of the *smart* fans who want to give up everything to get Carmelo are going to get their boy IT back as well. I hope then you are very satisfied that we have two players making 45MM--no way to make the team better and Isiah Thomas back for 5 more years.

If we had Amare and 'Melo at 45 million... what's the problem? The top teams in the league are top heavy in terms of their salary structure. You just have to be careful in the other pieces together which isn't something that IT has shown to be capable of.

We overrate Gallo and TD horribly. Gallo needs a new contract soon anyway. If it were possible to trade Gallo, Curry, Chandler and some far in the future 1st to get Anthony... come on. That's a no brainer.

I don't think Denver would do the deal even if 'Melo said he would only agree to an extension with the Knicks. Maybe in a mid-season trade they would, but not now.

Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

The problem is the new CBA- if you lock up $45 mil on just 2 players, Amar'e and Melo, then what happens if under the new CBA they introduce a hard cap and take away the MLE (there's a good chance of both of these things happening)- we'd be completely screwed- we couldn't sign free agents, we'd have given away all our young talent and we'd only have a draft pick every 2 years. If we can wait til the offseason then we have the added bonus of being able to see the new CBA before we lock up our cap space on melo (plus, we might get him for less/ fewer years).

If they don't do the deal now they get nothing during the deadline because Mello has made up his mind the be a Knick. Thats it. I give LeCon credit for that but LeCon could have let us know that before we pulled the trigger in the Houston deal. He Conned us and everyone else. Now LeCon's merchandise sales are down and he will never be the star he was.

Isiah to me is the clown doll staring at me in the middle of the night. No matter how many times I put it in the closet I wake up to lightening illuminating the chair and that clown is right back there smiling at me!!!!

Then I wake up again, and he is not there, but the chair is rocking!!!! Where did he go? Under the bed? Talking to Dolan? Where is he?????

I want Isiah to go away. Make him go away please.

Go away, Isaiah. Just...GO AWAY. Like the bad dream that you are, please just leave us little kids alone. We've had enough.

Waaaaaah! I want my Mommy.

On a more serious note, hold tight, Donnie, you have us poised for greatness. Don't wet your pants because you hear Isaiah the snake tip-toeing up the corridor. He's a loser and ALWAYS has been one.

Isaiah have 2 championship rings and played a key role in his team winning them.He ain't no looser. The deals he made for the Knicks were bad win now type of deals. I also don't beleive in throwing away 2 years hoping to land LeCon. We Could have made the playoffs with Crawford, and Zach. Walsh gave too much away just to get under the cap. Maybe if Crawford and Zach had a good year and we made the playoffs we could have made better deals. Now look what LeCon did to us. We will be saying the same thing about Walsh and D'Antoni if these players don't work out. Remember Walsh and D'Antoni both are now on the clock. Isaih is never coming back to the Knicks. Lets move on and root for this bunch of guys we have now and including Walsh and D'Antoni. And I'm not a D"Antoni fan but he has my full support.

Isiah is a loser as an executive. I don't care about what rings he won 20 years ago as a player. When it comes to running a team he is awful.

Isiah sucked and comparing what he did here to what Walsh has done in 2 years is beyond retarded. But I'm not surprised Papa. Really not surprised at all.

There's no way they'll build the new CBA so that the Lakers, Miami and Boston are completely screwed. If there was going to be a hard cap, it would be a gradual change, not an immediate one.

there will never be a hard cap in the NBA. Nobody wants one. Its going to be the same CBA essentially. I think you will see another Allan Houston type rule that lets teams dump a player or a contract from the cap while still honoring their contract. Maybe a longer rookie contract and a shorter veteran contract w/ 4 and 5 years being max instead of 5 and 6. That kind of stuff.

Isiah is 100% loser. He didnt just screw up the Knicks he was embarrassing w/ the sex stuff and his clearly inappropriate relationship w/ Marbury. He was a lousy GM first and foremost. Just like Michael Jordon stinks too as an exec.
