Seems like this Melo thing will get a little too complicated. It's being said that he wants out now and apparently won't wait for the Knicks, and has interest in signing with other teams like the Nets and Rockets. We can only hope the Nets won't get him because if they put him in a lineup with Lopez, Harris, and Marrow, that isn't a championship team, but it is better than our roster. I think if we have any chance of getting him we have to act now and trade significant prospects, which is something that isn't a popular concept around here.
Enter Tony Parker, who seems very content and quiet waiting out the season then taking his chances in free agency. He is 28, a 3-time all-star, and 3-time champion. His downfall is he has been hurt, but never anything career threatening. He is in his prime and should still be able to recover and get to the all-star game a couple more times as a Knick and lead us deep into the playoffs. The key will be developing the young talents of Gallo and Randolph, but if just one of them becomes an all-star, or both, you have a lineup that consists of 3-4 all-star talents and when it clicks it should be a dangerous team that can make some serious noise. I think Parker may be available at the deadline and dealing Felton, Chandler, and one more player like Buike isnt out of the question, but obviously we would prefer to get him over the summer, probably in a sign and trade for Felton straight up, or with one extra player like Chandler. We will still need to address the SG issue, but this looks like a great team for the next 5 years if developed properly.
